Subject: Bungie.Net Alexa Rating Of 4762... good or bad?

Well basically, I'm going to edit this because very few people know what Alexa is (apparently). Alexa is a third party company that ranks sites based on their popularity. Bungie has a rating of 4762. This means that this site is the 4762th most visited site.

Basically, its a ranking of hos popular the site is, superimposed on a leaderboard (so that more people can understand it). Bungie ranks 4762 on this leaderboard.

Do you guys think this is good or bad/why or why not?

This is a signature.

In it's current position, it serves almost no good, and, therefore, there is no reason to put anything important into it.

Umm... I don't think that anybody here has any idea what you're talking about. I don't

I get what you're saying and you're right. I would have thought Bungie's Alexa rank was much higher than that.

Alexa is a ranking of a sites popularity. A ranking of 1 means your the most popular site. A ranking of 5000 means your the 500th most visited site. Its powered by the Alexa toolbar. Its something a lot of site owners look at to judge their site's popularity.

It judges the number of pageviews and unique users. A lot of people use it? I guess maybe i thought more people were familiar with it.

Huh? Go here please before insulting this post Official Alexa Site

I have the Alexa toolbar installed, basically Bungie.Net is the 4762 most popular site... Yahoo is the most popular site, and Google is the third. Are you guys getting the idea now?

He was insulting me. And I was confused as to what possible relevance a third-party page ranker could have in the Bungie Community forum.

It ranks the popularity of Bungie. Its very popular (probably the Most popular pageranker). It counts feeds from its "toolbar", which you install to view the site's popularity.

Basically look at it this way: Bungie seems to have a rather lower popularity despite being one of the most popular games (at least IMO).Webcomics that aren't that famous have a much higher ranking as far as users and pageviews are concerned. I was just wondering if people thought this was intriguing.

If you consider how many websites exist in the world, then Bungie is doing well, in the top 1 percent.

Ubisoft.com is 3229, this seems rigged. Ubi has alot of games but it lacks the strong connection between community and games that bungie has IMO. Could it have to do with the code and what alexa is considering opening a page and not. Once someone is within the bungie.net region and are jumpin between forums-stats-forums-nex etc does that count, basically extensions and directories within the domain.?

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

I'd say its irrelevant, as it relies on data from the alexa toolbar to upload data.

I would personally say bad. For a game like Halo? The Bungie.Net alexa rankings should be way higher, especially because we have forums, and everything. People come here to check stats etc Does this mean there ought to be more stats here? Because I mean ctrl-atl-delete (the Webcomic) gets more hits then Bungie, and people ussually just check one page (the latest comic page), which means their overall pageviews will be low (but their unique users will be high). The Halo site, should probably have more because there are a lot more pageviews, and a lot of people play Halo.

Achronos,

Just out of curiosity how many hits does bungie.net receive a day? Or perhaps I’m not asking the right question. How many unique people visit Bungie.net everyday? I’m just looking for any kind of stats you are willing to provide to determine how popular this site really is. Thanks

Will there ever be a number of users online at Bungie.net stat like the stat for number of Halo 2 games played?
