I think whichever mod(s) is/are in the Halo 3 Beta forum should be far more ruthless. There's a lot of jerks in there, saying a lot of obscene things.

The mod presence definitely needs to increase in there.

Yes there should be...only if Shiska was sill around that forum would have been demolished...but sneding more mods there would be like Vietnam. Its pointless that forum is lost.

The forum isn't lost. It is brand new. There is still time.

Not really. Because as soon as all these whiners and complainers get their hands on the beta they will just find something else to whine and complain about. Like the new controls, or the new weapons, or the beta play lists, or the maps, or some other random crap that only they care about. I figured once release time came around it would turn out like this.

Isn't one of the points of a forum to give criticism when you you don't agree with someone/something? Its a forum, there is bound to be arguments/feedback on games/statement/other. Don't get me wrong, there's a certain point where this gets out of hand, especially when members flame and spam to get their point across.

Bungie will always have people asking questions, criticizing things and the like. The H3 forum and the H3 beta Forum are perfect examples of where this goes horribly wrong. What needs to happen is for the mods to enforce rules. Harshly. That will solve whats happening currently in these two forums.

Yo! Hey, Bungie! Over here!

For those that would rather talk about tweaks, instead of dealing with the tweakkerz, you should allow those that have the ideas needed for proper beta critiques into an "all-inclusive" forum, instead of dealing with the "forum n00bs"***.

People just have a natural tendency to go overboard with their problems. Like a "why me" approach. Or a "pity me" approach. Or a "the whole world is against me, and i'm the only one trying to do good things, but i have really bad luck" approach. Now, I'm not saying that there are stupid people or that there are smart(er) people, but even the ones who think they are smart can and will make mistakes based on judgement. You could be the smartest guy in the world and not know how to program an analog clock (You Don't!). You could be as smart as a brick (?) and totally pwn in Halo (1, 2, or 3).

***Examples of forum n00bs complaints (NOTE- I DON'T SAY THIS, BUT I SEE THIS SORT OF THING IN THE OTHER BETA FORUMS):
WTF? y r there no help 4 us? this game suxx cause it don't work! SELLING POWER LEVELING!!! Bungie is the devil! I think it broke my xbox, because it won't turn on when the power cord is out of the wall. do you really need crackdown to play? crackdown sux, but halo3 is cool. The devs said this patch would fix the glitch, but there's another glitch they have to fix first, or else the patch won't work. Question: "how do i play as good as that guy?" -noob. Answer: "Shoot yourself a dozen times! It's faster than grinding! lolz." -1337. Question: "it didnt work and now i have a suicide count!" -noob. Answer: "And who can you blame? You shot yourself!" -1337.

And on. And on. And on....

At this exact moment I can honestly, sincerely and genuinely state that the people at Bungie have my sympathy. I know, pretty meaningless, but I am simply dumbstruck by the downright rotten attitude of so many people on these forums.

Believe me, I'm no kiss ass, I just mean it.

Bungie... you guys have superhuman patience.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

I can tell you that we have blacklisted so many people that the Soul has lost a lot of weight from delivering PM's. I for one blacklisted an entire thread of posters. It is just that there are so many people posting in there that by the time you get done with one problem the other ones you were looking at are on page 3 and there are 4 more on page 1. It is just that we can only put out so many fires. Just because you do not see us working does not mean we are not there. We are it is just that it takes a bit to make the idiots to go away.

Exactly. The mods will keep plugging away and eventually the problem posters will go away. I wouldn't call that forum "lost" at all. There are good topics there, but admittedly it is sometimes luck of the draw that lets you catch them. For example, it's perfectly possible that in the time it took me to read Achilles's post and write my own response, that a perfectly good thread will have been posted and dropped from the first page.

But there ARE good threads and you should have faith that there will be more. And things are improving -- it is currently taking about ten minutes for an unresponded-to thread to drop from page one to page three. That sounds bad, but compare that to two and a half minutes for the same thing to happen just a couple of days ago and you can see that the forum is indisputably improving.

So don't worry, my friends!

I made a good thread, and like to think I did my part in stemming some of the flood of repeat questions/suggestions.

At 50 pages it was replaced with an "Official" bugs thread, which is cool because I really need to get down to work! [;

<---- Is glad he is not a moderator at this point in time.

I usually miss the fact that I'm not as much a part of this community as I once was when I was a moderator, but it's times like these that I'm glad work finally got around to blocking Bungie.net...

Thanks for moderating the forum. I hope over time the trouble makers decrease in number.

I just ran a little test, i made a topic and refreshed my screen right after, in just a little over ten seconds, and under 15 seconds, my post was near the bottom of the second page.

People are making so many new and worthless threads. Alot of threads dont even have replies. I bet if half of the people on that form started using the search feature, we would have less random spam threads and more quality threads. Alot of the posts in their are pretty much spam to, its like the posters are trying to see who can have the most posts. The only real way to fix it is for the posters to make better post's...ect...

Does anyone remember the halo 3 forum? It was in a similar (possibly even worse) condition than the halo 3 beta forum when it first was opened. It calmed down after a while, though. If the b.net team chooses to leave the H3 beta forum up after the beta is finished, then it should slow down eventually.

No wai! u wer a mod!!?? wwo!!!

Just kidding dmb, how could I forget you and your crazy flood game. I still for the life of me cannot remember the name of that game. If possible, you should start one up again ;), this time I will actually be able to get involved. Instead of being on the sides.

Oh, and if I am not mistaken, doesn't this deserve a lock? I mean, after all, the Beta forum is 'lost' at this point in time; thankfully.
