You know what guys, i would have LOVED to have seen the look on the PCGamer team's faces, when they came to their office the morning after publication of that review, with about 1000+ emails from unhappy customers over that review. Purely because some of it didn't even make any -blam!- sense:

"I can't be genuinely appalled by this failing - Halo 2 is just too boring for that."

Umm....sorry, what?

I regret to say that it is true. HALO > halo 2 by a longshot. If you disagree, then I am willing to bet that you haven't played it much.

The hatred caused towards Halo 2 was, in fact, mostly the community being influenced by other people. Halo 2 isn't a bad game, not at all as bad as you guys think it is.

Halo 2 was over hiped, and over reviewed. But it still is one of my favorite games. Why, because bungie focused more on fun for EVERYONE rather than just the hardcore or the light gamer. There was something there for everyone. The game had nearly flawless AI, good level design, PERFECT music (that guy's a moron when he insults Marty) and the best online play on a console ever (I don't know how the PC matches up). However it was a little on the easy side (unless your on legendary). The weapons in multiplayer have too much lock on, but the mouse fixes it. The graphics are improved, though not amazing as I hoped from the reviews, they're pretty damn good. I didn't want an overhaul of the games graphics, I wanted them to stick with classic H2 with a few texture and anti aliasing improvements. Halo gets an 8.9 in my book, and no matter what people say, I think it kicks Halo 2 in the ass.

If you guys haven't noticed, they took it down from their website and you can no longer see the review.

Halo 2 isn't that great, but it doesn't deserve the criticism in that review.

Yes. But I am one of those original ID fans (Think Wolf 3D) that was extremely upset at the DOOM3 engine. ID games traditionally had a perfect balance between beautiful graphics, fast gameplay, and very low system requirements. That is why they were so successful. Q4 had a bogged-down feel in controls, and slowed down gameplay. While the graphics where exceptional, the system requirements were sky-high for an ID game. The only other thing I though was nice in Q4 was the storyline. So in short, I feel that Q4 is worse, than Halo 2.
