First off, the GTA series are hardly "crapy" games. While in my opinion, they don't even compare to Halo:CE or Halo 2 (based on what I've seen), there's no reason to label them as crappy or even "crapy." Quite the contrary, some might even argue that without GTA, boarding would cease to exist in Halo 2.
Secondly, the two games share virtually no similarities. Apples and oranges. As far as it selling more copies, eh, maybe. It has a pretty huge fan base and target group, but I think Halo has (arguably) the most loyal, devoted and dedicated fan base of any game, ever.
I have to disagree. GTA is an awful game; it feels half-finished, poorly constructed and untested. Never have I enjoyed playing it at all, as I always find myself either fighting with the lousy gameplay or the even lousier controls, and to top it off the game doesn't even look halfway decent while its floundering in second-rateness. Boarding isn't exactly an ingenious idea that no one had considered until GTA came along, either. It may have done it first, but its not all that hard to come up with.
