I agree with the OP. El rey, it's a little unfair and ignorant to quit at the beginning of a ranked, team match. If you really don't care about this game that much, then play training, where the consequences of quitting are nullified by the absence of rank.

It's stupid to join a ranked, team match and quit at the beginning. I respect your right to quit and all, and I understand that people have emergencies, but you shouldn't quit at the beginning of a ranked game.

El rey isn't totally wrong though. Apocalpyto (or whatever), you should go into a ranked team game with at least a party of three to ensure you're going to play with friendly people you know that won't quit.

Finally some semblence of intelligence here.

To address your point about going in with a team - lord do Iw ish I could but unfortunately it's easier said than done.

If I want to play, 8 out of 10 times I have to go at it alone. I don't like it, but the lack of people online when I am restricts this. I am really looking forward to the 'one more game' feature in Halo 3 to curb this.

You think you have an unflawed argument? All you have given in support is saying its lame. What you have here isn't an unflawed argument, its a case of a person ignoring what everyone else has to say believe his word is the law. Why are we saying you are hostlie? Reread your posts, seriously. Everyone hates quitters, and almost everyone does a better job of dealing with it that you do.

On that note, I think I have a solution to the problem. Give each person a certain amount of quits a day. For example, a player can leave 10 games a day early. People do need to leave for legitimate reasons. After 10 quits the option to quit is no longer avaliable, if the player needs to leave he can walk away from his xbox and let his character sit there idle. At the end of the day the 'quit count' resets to 10. What do you guys think?

i see your point, i myself have found myself with a team behind me in a game 1 minute, and the next minute im all alone with the other team killing me again and again and again........... My best advice would be to go in matchmaking with some of your friends whom you KNOW will not quit.

I have a perfectly legit reason for quitting... because I WANT TO. YOU don't get to dictate what's "enjoyable" and what isn't. I don't play this game for rank. I play it for fun. And when I'm not having fun anymore, I quit.

Your problem is that you take it too seriously. It's a video game for Pete's sake! Your rank is meaningless for the most part anyway. If someone quits on your team, and you don't enjoy that, then QUIT YOURSELF and start a new game. Pretty simple really.

Ah, good - another idiot.

You SHOULDN'T have the luxury of playing TEAM games if you're in it for yourself. There's rumble pit and trainging games and even custom games for whiny brats who don't like a challenge.

Let me reiterate AGAIN, because people here suffer from a lack of reading comprehension -- by MAKING THE CHOICE TO PLAY TEAM GAMES YOU ARE THUS BECOMING PART OF A TEAM. A TEAM THAT RELIES ON YOU FOR YOU TO BE ACTIVE AND PARTICIPATE IN WHICH YOU SPECIFICALLY AND WILLINGLY WENT INTO.

How hard is this to understand?

Additionally - you think rank matters one iota to me then you're mistaken. The amount of TIME it takes to get into a game, have everyone load, have someone quit and have the game screwed because of it is what sucks - not the rank loss.

But then again, my time is valuable. I can see how somoene who lives in mommy's basement has the luxury to play as many games possible while screwing other people because they're selfish and spolied.

Next?

First off, duude, chill. It's just a game.

And uh.. yea, that would be ridiculous if people were absolutely forced to play an entire game without quitting. People can quit if they want to. Deal with it like the rest of us do.

Yes. Simply because you chose yourself as an advocate of quitters. Whilst trying to unload your weak point of view you in turn proved how right I was. Your thought process when approaching team games cements the fact that you should be restricted from playing them by an automatic detection system I hope Bungie will put into place by Halo 3.

Stupid, just stupid.

This is not a solution, this is yet another exploitable system for quitters.

I think if you quit or go idle 3 times then for the sake of sportsmanship alone Bungie should restrict you only to games which don't require you to be relied on for the rest of the day.

Dude, just put the game down for a few months. Find a new hobby, then come back to this one when you get bored. The community should be better, later.

P.S. I never quit.

Great, another worthless post.

I am "chilled" and no, it's not just a 'game' anymore.

For me, it is an enjoyable activity I used as a stress reliever while working from home. A nice distraction to take a break from my hectic life. SO when I go in for 10 games on one night and 8 opf them are screwed up because of spoiled, inconsiderate brats hell yeah I am pissed.

I've been dealing with it since the game came out and noticed it was even more pronounced after the reset.

Those who sit idly by and allow the world to walk all over them are the types who fail in life.

I'm willing to bet if you even have a job it's at some gas station, huh?

Calm down sir.

No, it's not a game anymore. A game denotes an enjoyable activity.

Thanks for your (worthless) input though.

"Worthless imput" lmfao.
Dude, You're pretty much upset because people quit on you.
For the most part it's probably your fault to begin with. And who cares
if people quit? It's not illegal.
Stop crying and get over yourself.
And you call yourself an "adult"
yet you come on here and --blam(whateverness)-- on the forum?

Ranma don't worry the evil monkey in the closet will do it for you.

First of all, in the first post, you said you were an "ADULT", You sure aren't acting like one. CHILL (No offense)

Second of all, I agree with the whole quitting thing. It pisses me off.

I actually didn't play for 8 MONTHS due to cheaters and quitters up until a week ago.

Guess what bro, I paid for the game just like you. Which entitles me to the "luxury" of playing any way I damn well please within the rules.

You're just going to have to deal with it.

Thats not what I"m saying at all. I don't think you should quit a ranked game at the beginning ever. The only game a quit at the beginning is rockets, which is only in the training playlists. The only time I don't have a problem when people quit a ranked game if you are getting slaughtered, e.g. losing 40-15.

Again, I'm not saying that I am a quitter, I'm presenting the other side of the argument. I don't want to see a scenario where people are locked into a game and arn't allowed to leave. I realize that the way I worded it may have been confusing and I apologize. I didn't assume we were talking about ranked games. Again, I don't believe people should quit ranked games.

From here on I assume we are discussing ranked games?

Funny thing is I'm self-employed on the intraweb - so unlike you this is part of my day. I can come in here and reply to all of you morons at my leisure pending projects I have to complete.

So yeah, I got time to come on here and tell you you're an idiot.

I don't have time for quitters to act like children and ruin my gameplay.

So you're a spolied brat who doesn't want to play if things aren't perfect? Fine - enjoy the freedom now but life is gonna SUCK for you (unless it already does).

You say that this game is "an enjoyable activity I used as a stress reliever while working form home." Well it doesn't sound like it. It sounds like you are another rank whore who actually wears your rank on a jacket you bought from the Army Navy Store. I can see the vein poping in your forehead everytime somone quits and you lose rank.

So truly bro, chill. Let it go. Don't judge your gaming experience on rank. Just play. If you want something to strive for, measure your kill to death ratio for each game. Then you won't be so concerned about other people.

P.S.: Life's great for me bro. I'm not the one bursting a blood vestle over a video game.

Hell YES I am upset. See my post above about standing up for yourself. Might help to not get pushed around so much at school by the fat kid with an inferiority complex.

And yeah - people quitting in clusters in the first 30 seconds is my fault - that makes total sense.

Your post isn't just worthless, you are. GTFO kiddo.

I think this whole thing will get better as the ranks redistribute. I played about 10 games of slayer today, had quitters every game. The key is to not let it get to you. Just keep playing the game and having fun. Don't let other people ruin it for you at all.

I do think it would help if they put the party restrictions back on. Its not fair for 4 randoms to get matched up against a party of 4. Now that the population is more condensed party restrictions should be brought back.
