With this past update yes i know they fixed bridging people from bridging other people host but you need to fix the other stuff i am still getting team standbyed still getting bridged out of games
All you need to fix is standby for host , Since ranks reset i got to lvl 20 yea i know not very good im better just cant go up because i get cheated by pathetic loosers i can honoestly say i got cheated 4 times yesterday in a 2 hour period for a freakin level 19 i dont care bout ranks but getting cheated every single game isnt very fun
Plz fix maybe make everyone spawn at same time so they dont know if they got host i dont know but u need to do something!

You cannot fix network manipulation. That has nothing to do with the game. If someone cuts off your connection to host, that has nothing to do with Xbox Live, Halo 2, or Bungie. That is physical blockage. It's the same thing as unplugging your router and plugging it back in. Cheating, yes, but there is nothing they can do to fix or prevent it.

Actually there are clearly things that could be done to detect this (I work in networking), but that is another discussion.

Very frustrating. I played for about an hour last night, and in 2 games, both of which we were winning I was leading my team in kills (for a change), I went to standby and then "game over" showing everyone else "quitting".

I'm assuming this is a result of me being cut off by the host.

I feel very sorry for the folks who are sad enough to feel the need to do this.

Oh - and this is at level 3-6ish or something (post reset).

You don't have the right to talk. They updated the banhammer SOOOOOOO many times. They find many ways to counter cheating, and have pretty much got rid of modding.

Also, network manipulation can't be fixed, it's also the communitys job to report cheaters.

There will most likely always be some computer expert learning new cheats. Im sure its very hard for bungie to stop every single cheater on halo2. and besides on halo3 there might not be any way to cheat at all so we can always hope =)

Actually there are obvious ways to detect some of these attacks, particularly those involving host kicking out / cutting off individual players. Heres hoping this has been implemented in H3.

Perhaps the most obvious way to help combat this is for the player who has host to be clearly indicated within Halo itself - that way if you are cut off etc you can leave "cheating" feedback for that user.

You were born Guilty

GETTING CHEATED IS UNAVOIDABLE...........Besides......half the time people think they are being cheated, It is because they have a bad connection, Or because the other person has the look sensitivity to 10 and the other persons' machine can't process fast enough. These things do happen. Sometimes peoples thumbs are just....plain and simple......FASTER THAN YOURS. I know there is still cheating but enough has already been done about it that now that I have wasted your time,.....you probably shouldn't waste ours with posts' like this....Just my opinion.

Wow! 97 TS games already! But you've only played 1,500 total games. That's not a good enough sampling for you to know if you were cheated or if it just your bad connection.

I do not have a bad connection :) Wired connection to cable modem with 600kb/s downstream.

Getting kicked out of games by network manipulation is *not* unavoidable.

I have enough H2 experience to know what is bad connection and what is not.

well if bungie made everyone spawn at same time pople would not know they have host and would not stand bye / or since were already paying 60$ a year or whatever shouldnt they have server? this woulld fix host and fix cheating entirely mauybe the occasional laggy person but never standbye / yes they have fixed the banhammer many times but it didnt really do anything all of the times except thtza last timethey fixed bridging other people hostbut couldnt they scan ports when you log on to xbox live till the time you log off

you guys just probly arnt coplaining either cause u sucking up or because you arnt good enough to get past a level 10 to actually get cheated cause today i set a new record i played the same guy about 4 times in a row and every game he standbyed for host and everygame they won cause they had a really laggy host and after i finally stopped playing him and his crew of but headds i playe dsomone else who was doing the same thing i dont care about my level it just isnt fun playing the same cheater more thant once in arow i hope they do not have these probles in halo 3

hehe you have prety good conection your downstream is only like 120 short of what i take in and i know what your all thinking my connection just sucks thats why my games are always laggy and well yes my connection sucks but it is not enough for everyone tn the game to go red bar and i can keep a stable green bar (yes i can talk ive played halo 2off and on for about 2 years and cheating is still the same method nothing has changed)

people could test the standby out and see if they're host, or brx and see if it reloads.
