In the beginning of two betrayals, in the cinematic, the Moniter says something along the lines of "Last time you asked me, if it were my choice, would I do it? Having had considerable time to ponder your inquery my answer has not changed."

Does this mean that Halo has been activated more than once? By the same master chief, only in a different time and life (along with the flood) emerged once again in the galaxy?

Well thatt's my theory but post your thoughts...

i think he is just referring to the chief as the "reclaimer" and can not differentiate between MC and previous "reclaimers" so the only thing 343GS knows to associate people to is (the person that retrieves the index=reclaimer)

lets not get anywhere close to flammin guys!

That whole monitor inuendo thing is really the essence of halo. Anyone thought about this: ok, dinosaurs were originally gonna walk around randomly in the game, and 343 says "samples were kept after the last catastrauphic outbreak", could the last ring usage coincide with the mass-extinction of the dinosaurs? I know this is pretty far-out, but its possible right?

Damn Straight ,but it could be refering to the dead sargeant MC found in the library. He could have asked him .The Moniter cannot tell humans apart and does anybody else feel that since the forerunners are ancient and are kickin' ass in tech that humans seem a little pitiful.

I think the moniter was talking to Master Cheif in the protal deil and Master Chief brought up the subject.

In one of the books the MC comes across the body of a former reclaimer. 343 could have been talking about that.

I think the monitor meant that the last time Halo was activated the
reclaimer asked him if he would activate Halo if it was his choice.
The Monitor probably said yes. Thats what he meant by "my
answer to your query has not changed.'
