Ok here i go, well i have been doing allot of research lately on the fact of going into the video game industry and this is what pops up the most i think in discussion, would it be better to have a 4 year computer science degree or to have one of those special video game degrees i have been hearing so much about.
i have not taken either and was just wondering where to start, i am also looking for a mod or some type of practice to get up my portfolio and which is the best way to do that, Cheers
also if anyone has similar questions feel free to post here
change: Also if your awesome at what you do 3d,prog. or what have you could you get a job that way, is that a better choice than having the degree?
i am in running start so i get 2 years free of college in which i can get three classes of csc which will count towards my highschool and college grad. the funny thing is tho allot of people are looking to get into the industry but most dont but forth the effort to really get into it, like right now im asking an opinion or have no idea what they are getting themselves into, i know this however, i have done some programming in C still haven't made my way up to C++ because i haven't had the time after i got side tracked with the 3d stuff, anywho i find myself hung up because i don't know where to turn next at this point, i think i should take the CSC classes but the question is should i get a scholarship to pay for the remainder of the CSC classes for a 4 year or start all over with a game degree
