The ability to block with another sword. Just imagine having a sword fight surrounded by a circle of Spartans and Elites screaming "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT."

I really hope they include some sort of way to block, and then add some combos or something.

If you and another guy with a sword could block, then what is the use in having the sword. If me and the other guy were to fight like that and we kept blocking each other, that would begin to bore me. So then I would back up, stick a plazzy to his nose, and run away.

What I think will be amazing is if you can make a level swords ONLY. Holy crap, that would be fun.

SB-117

R Trigger is used to lunge forward and uppercut (just an uppercut if you dont lock on)
B is used for melee combos

I dont think there will be a blocking feature although it would come in handy for blocking bullets and stuff.

I'm talking about you'd have to block the right attack. There could be a upper block and a lower block, and if you picked the right one it wouldn't hurt, and you'd hear the swords clank together and everything.

I guess someone here has never watched Pirates of the Caribbean or any other awesome swashbuckling flick.

Slash. Parry. Parry. Slash. Parry. Slash. Slash. Lunge!

Leaping and bounding off of the terrain, jockeying for high ground advantage.

400% Health, Plasma Swords only. That's my game.

*haha* The swords are plasma, Obi... they wouldn't clank, they'd hiss like the lightsabers from Starr Wars. I'd think a better method would be defending against all of the other sword attacks, but the blocks have to be perfectly timed- and the left mouse button, instead of attacking when you are being attacked by a sword, it would block.

But that's far-fetched. Bungie won't add this to Halo 2 now.

I don't want to seem like I'm complaining and being dismissive, because I'm not. But I hope they keep the energy sword combat simple. I was expecting it to only have one method of attack, instead it has two.. which is great. But anything more is just over doing it. Simplicity is one of the many things that makes Halo great. Run up to somebody - If they have a shotgun, they shoot you in the face and you die. If they have a sword.. who swings first wins. Very simple, very balanced.
The Jedi Knight games have excellent sword combat. Especially Outcast. I haven't played Jedi Acadamy, it's probably better. Leave the complicated sword combat to the games that are designed for it.

Halo is a shooting game, not a big sword-fighting Star Wars game. Your idea is great, but like InaneDrivel said, I don't think that it really belongs in Halo. If they started doing that, then it would get too complicated. I like the fact that Halo has some strategy to it, but not too much to where you have to sit in one place and hide for twenty minutes thinking of a plan. Yes, there are good tactics, but it stays simple. A quick trigger finger and constant movement are the best methods of attack, and that's all that Halo needs.

Bah, Polls are for losers. I don't ever vote in any of them If you have something to say. Say it.

Anyways, at my place we often have entire nights where we play Halo without firing our weapons. Fisticuffs are the order of the day. We dance about, looking for an opening, lunge and dodge.

We play without radar so it's awesomely fun, especially since if you're not paying attention one of the other guys can rush up behind you and smack you in the head.

Now, I'm not saying other people would use it, just that we most definitely would use the parry function if one was implemented. In fact, my group if they were fighting with rifles and one drew out the Plasma sword. The other would stop shooting, draw his own Plasma sword and prepare for honourable combat in true samurai fashion.
