Who said anything about split screens, you don't play split screens on your computer while playing Co-Op, i take it you've never played Co-Op on computer before?, its just like playing multiplayer your on your own computer with you own screen, your friend is on their own computer on their own screen, no split screen, the only difference is, you playing campaign, instead of multiplayer maps, i can't see how that will be so hard. They have Co-Op in splinter cell on the PC, and in serious sam 2, and probably a few other games that i haven't tried. But Co-Op in H2V will just be bloody awesome. Bungie has let me down on that part, although i can still enjoy playing single player alone, it just won't be as fun as having someone to play with.
EDIT:, Perhaps someone could hack/mod the game and bring out some kind of program allowing you to play Co-Op, that would be cool, I'm pretty sure they did that for far cry
Did you read my whole response? I addressed two issues: #1. Why Co-op was taken out (Split Screen related), and #2. Why wasn't Co-op added for online play?
There have been many games with split screen options on PC although its declined big time. The last game I played that had split screen was the serious sam series. I never said that they SHOULD have had split screen on the PC version, I was just explaining why split screen co-op wasn't kept in the game. And yes, I've played co-op online many times (Rainbow Six Vegas being my favourite co-op game right now). Those games were built with co-op online in mind. They would have to reprogram the AI & scripted events to take into account lag and such, and that would be a painstaking process for a team that didn't originally make the game.
Sry, sort of skimmed through your 1st response. But I've never once played a PC Co-Op game that was split screen, the one's I've played you had the whole screen to yourself, just like playing multiplayer online. And i don't really care about online Co-Op, i was thinking more of the lines of LAN Co-Op. And can't they just copy most of the scripting off the halo 2 xbox?. Lag is not that big of a problem as there are more users out there with broadband than dialup, so lag is considerably reduced.
