Just a question: What is your Vista performance rating, and what sort of settings are you able to run Halo 2 at? I am thinking about picking this game up, but I want to know if it will run at decent settings.

Does this thing have LAN play? I've heard numerous conflicting reports. There are many places where Hired Gun/Bungie/MS have mentioned that there WILL be LAN play, but I've read at least one review which says there wasn't any.

Yes there is LAN play and this has been proven with screenshots of the main screen.

see the "network" option.

you can also see this in the jo clowes interview.

So, after just looking at the High Quality video, it look a lot clearer than the xbox version, but since i haven't played the xbox version in a very long time, can someone correct me if im wrong, because the lighting and graphics looked a lot better. I seriously can't wait to get this game, My cousin works at Big W, i'll ask him if they have any in stock and if they do, see if he can put one on lay-buy for me.

LAN play will be awesome, but what about Co-Op, everyones saying there is no Co-Op, that really sux, I play Co-Op with my mates on other games and it rocks, so much more fun.

Co-op in the Xbox version was made for split screen only. They didn't want to keep split screen in the game because they feel a very small amount of people would have used it on the PC version. Putting split screen in the game probably would have been a challenge if they wanted it to scale down like the Xbox version did (although they really could have just said, hey, if you want to play in split screen mode it will run at 30 FPS instead of 60 if your PC isn't fast enough, and I think most people would be happy with that). In terms of making Co-op online, they would have needed to revamp the networking code. The AI hasn't been programmed to interact with players online. It would have been too expensive for them to develop that. Perhaps if Halo 3 on 360 comes with Co-op online built in, they'll do it for PC as well.

I want to know if you can have the right mouse button throw grenades and shoot for dual wields becuase on the manual grenades are TAB? This would really get annoying to have to add all these keyboard assignments, it needs to be simple and comfortable.

Who said anything about split screens, you don't play split screens on your computer while playing Co-Op, i take it you've never played Co-Op on computer before?, its just like playing multiplayer your on your own computer with you own screen, your friend is on their own computer on their own screen, no split screen, the only difference is, you playing campaign, instead of multiplayer maps, i can't see how that will be so hard. They have Co-Op in splinter cell on the PC, and in serious sam 2, and probably a few other games that i haven't tried. But Co-Op in H2V will just be bloody awesome. Bungie has let me down on that part, although i can still enjoy playing single player alone, it just won't be as fun as having someone to play with.

EDIT:, Perhaps someone could hack/mod the game and bring out some kind of program allowing you to play Co-Op, that would be cool, I'm pretty sure they did that for far cry

Did you read my whole response? I addressed two issues: #1. Why Co-op was taken out (Split Screen related), and #2. Why wasn't Co-op added for online play?

There have been many games with split screen options on PC although its declined big time. The last game I played that had split screen was the serious sam series. I never said that they SHOULD have had split screen on the PC version, I was just explaining why split screen co-op wasn't kept in the game. And yes, I've played co-op online many times (Rainbow Six Vegas being my favourite co-op game right now). Those games were built with co-op online in mind. They would have to reprogram the AI & scripted events to take into account lag and such, and that would be a painstaking process for a team that didn't originally make the game.

No offense but since you don't own the game i really don;t care i just want someone who has purchased to awnser if co-op is available? Of course there's no split screen lol but there might be for LAN, I am certain there is no online co-op but there shou,ld be a LAN co-op can someone check if its possible please not buy guesses just from people who actually have the game?

Miles, I'm pretty sure there has been an official response stating that co-op isn't in the game. And the reason they gave was that it was a technical challenge.

Sry, sort of skimmed through your 1st response. But I've never once played a PC Co-Op game that was split screen, the one's I've played you had the whole screen to yourself, just like playing multiplayer online. And i don't really care about online Co-Op, i was thinking more of the lines of LAN Co-Op. And can't they just copy most of the scripting off the halo 2 xbox?. Lag is not that big of a problem as there are more users out there with broadband than dialup, so lag is considerably reduced.
