...of having problems with joining people's parties and they can't join me! It happens so often!!!!!! If it's not one friend that I can't join it's another sometimes it's mutiple friends at a time that I can't join their parties..OH! and so now if I find a way to play with them by being in a different friend's party if the party leader leaves I get booted from the party/game for no reason. It's seriously frustrating. I don't know who to complain to so I'm just throwing it out there!

You cant join certain peoples host prob due to their firewall.

Unplug your ethernet cable, and plug it back in. It works for me most of the time.

Locked for all-caps title. Oh wait, that's evilcam's line.

I have never actually had this problem, but I do believe it is caused by the router's firewall settings. Now whether it's yours or your friends, I don't know. Could be both.

Make sure your Xbox/360 is in your routers DMZ to make sure you won't suffer from this problem

I don't have a router. I found out one of my friends had one and when he disconnected the router it worked fine. Haven't tried it with anyone else. Haven't played in a few days because I was so frustrated!

You and your friends all need to sort out your NAT issues. It should be 'open' rather than 'strict' or 'moderate'.

That will do it. Or you can open the ports XBL uses if a DMZ is not convenient.

Google it and all will be revealed.

edit: just read you don't use a router. If you are directly connected to the modem on your own, it is your friend's problems and not yours.
