Play Marathon, Marathon 2, and Marathon Infinity. Unfortunately, they're only playable on Macs. Ha ha!

You never heard of them because they weren't in the entire gaming spectrum. They were part of the small corner set aside for Mac games.

If you wanna play Marathon on the PC, You need to download Aleph one from source.bungie.org, and get M1A1 http://archives2.bungie.org/a1sdl/m1a1_sdl.zip

Myth is brilliant, and all the Myth games are available on the PC. More info in the games section.

Depends on what you're asking about.

D Von's idea works. Bungie did port Marathon 2 to the PC. In 1999, they released the Marathon 2 source code. From that the Aleph One project was born - to continue development of the Marathon engine, by several die-hard fans.

Aleph One is available for Mac, PC and pretty much every other operating system in existence. To play it though, you need the map, sound, images etc for Marathon 2 or Marathon Infinity, and if you download them for free that is stealing. You can get them by buying the Mac Action Sack from the Bungie Store, which includes the entire Marathon series, along with other old-school games (only for Mac though). Once you get the Sack, if you have a PC you can just copy the Map, Images, Music, Sounds, and Shapes files from Marathon 2 and Marathon Infinity.

Unfortunately, since it is based on an older source code, you can't use the Marathon (1) files with Aleph One. You can, however, as D Von said, get M1A1, which is Marathon 1 for Aleph 1 (read D Von's post for the link).

However, M1A1 just isn't the same as the original Marathon experience. I suggest you buy a Mac. Those original colourful iMacs go for about $200 on eBay these days, so don't give me any of that "Macs are too expensive" rubbish.
