OK, so we know that the forerunners died because they had to activate the Halos... Brutes have taken the place of Elites as the Prophet's guards... atleast the Arbitor knows what the Halos are for... and MC is on a forerunner ship to the Earth, also called The Ark (The/A place to activate all the Halos, if im not mistaken)...

So, any speculation about whether or not all/most elites will be with the Humans in the next Halo game?

Also someone tell me if the normal Halo is like this but, the LE comes with a conversations with the Universe booklet, and in the game manual has the Covenant names for all the covenant.... which are as follows:

Brute: Jiralhanae
Drone: Yanme'e
Elite: Sangheili
Engineer: Huragok
Grunt: Unggoy
Hunter: Lekgolo
Jackal: Kig-yar
Prophet: Prophet

In the Conversations from the Universe booklet, there is a letter from a person named Esko, which talks about a stucture (probably forerunner) on a planet called Coral. An interesting conversation between two Elites wondering why the Prophets dont give the Humans a chance to join the Covenant or peacefully surrender. And on the last page is a letter to John from someone named Cassandra, who talks of recovering at a M2SL Recovery Station, and that Johnson is to tell her when John is near that Station so they can meet again...

Maybe Cassandra is a Spartan? Kelly by any chance?

This a good theory but I don't see your sources in any of the places you've mentioned. I do agree with you that Elites and Grunts, they sided with the Grunts, will be on the human side in the next game or the possible movie (Feb 9th has to be for something).

I'm not sure on Kelly surviving and coming back as Cassandra. It might be another Spartan, I think the Spartan's first trainer was training another group of Spartans but I haven't heard anything about them since they were mentioned. They might have been killed when the Covenant attacked Reach, probably not even trained fully yet. Cassandra might be the last survivor of her group though.

I think the covenant human alliance might happen but im not sure. I have a good theory about Casandra though. I read that same thing at my friends house, and i think if you ever read the books (which you should). Anyway if you've read the books you would know about a person named Dr. Catherine Halsley. Dr. Halsley is the person who abducted the Sparatans at age 6 and gave them their armor. Anyway i think bungie renamed her Casandra. My only proof of this (and for anyone who read the books should immeadiately agree), this Casandra person called the Master Chief John. In the books only Dr. Halsley called the Sparatans by their first names.

Halo 2 sucks big time, what the crap were you guys thinking when you made that. The game was advertised as "saving earth", you spend two or three levels on earth in the entire game. Whats with that?!?! Master Chief didnt even save earth, you might as well have not shown any of the ads or said anything about the covenant coming to earth, seeing as thats mainly going to happen in halo 3, if there even is one. And now i have to spend another lousy 50 bucks just to see how the story ends, not to mention if what ive heard about xbox 2 is true. If thats the case and halo 3 really is going to be a launch pad for xbox 2, theres about 400 dollars down the drain, thanks a lot bungie, and if not you than thanks to the brilliant business decisions of microsoft. Bill Gates can suck on my balls.

Dont get me wrong the games great and all, but its like you just stopped half way through and didnt bother to really conclude the game. Its like you just picked up and left. I had been looking foward to that game ever since i finished playing halo 1 which is a long time, and yes this is a bit sad, but none the less that was a -blam!- move on your part.

Im not sure on a whole plot for halo 3, so far i think yours is a good one and i think that there is a big possibility that that letter is from kelly or doctor hasley. who knows?

i agree with all of you exept the 2 that got pissy. i am glad, that means a halo 3. i liked the ending. it is awsome. good game. i think it might be kelly or dr. i think only the elites will join forces with the humans to get revenge on the prophets and brutes. the leeters from the universe was awsome.

There's more to explain about what the Forerunners intended when they activated the rings. Did they expect the Flood would die out as well? Because otherwise...why not fight to the end on the hope that the tides might have turned? Where did the Flood come from in the first place? I definitely see an alliance between Elites/Grunts/Hunters and the humans against the Covenant under the Prophets and the Brutes.

Another thing, when you refer to the Ark...you say it's the ship they were on? I think the Ark is Earth...at least...that's what I assumed when I saw the cut scene. There might be some connection between that and the fact it is the "Reclaimers" homeworld. I'm also wondering...on the final cut scene, it showed what seemed to be a battle in the space above Earth. Do the Covenant have Earth beaten down for real this time? Needless to say...can't wait for Halo 3, but I'm going to have to.

Ok, storyline for Halo 3 (how halo 2 should have been)

Opens wiht the FMV that ended the game (Earth under attack by covenant)

Master chief lands on Cairo station (first 'level' form 2) and unceremoniously kicks out the covenant

Master chief plants bomb on cavennant ship (like in 2)

MC catches a ride down to earth (new mombasa level like in E3 dem0) Kicks the seven shades out of the covemnant.

MC boards the covie cruiser with the prophet to find out why they came to earth (hen blows it up)

MC finds out about forerunner structure on moon (or other planet in solar system, doesn't matter) Journeys to structure to find it overrunn with covenant. Leads a strike force to remove them.

MC finds out about control room for all 6 (1 blew up) halos being located on earth (possibly in pyramids?) Finds out about the Earth being the Ark (forerunners seeded it with their genetic material or something to avoid being wiped out by the halos)

MC returns to earth to explore above location of control room, finds it full of covies trying to activate the halos. Battles his way in.

Covies activate the arming system or something, forcing the master chief to destroy the building.

Ends with MC escaping blast, covenant being wiped out by a human counter attack, forcing them off the Earth.

Ends with covenant warping back to their homeworld, MC in victory parade, some kind of continuation cliff hanger for another game.

(Thanks to 'the official speculation thread from before the game was released for some ideas, and from some of the other forums. Please email me at www.orangeeatinjoe@yahoo.co.uk and tell me what you think.)

dude pleas tell me pm me or whatever... i felt so disapointed with halo 2 (is it on xbox 2? is it really open map wise? does it have so many good things in it that it ends up being over stuffed (bad thing)

  • 11.16.2004 6:51 PM PDT

My hotplates go to 11.

The end of halo, even though it did end with MC saying "I think we're just getting started" or sumthin like that, anyway it was complete, MC had killed all of the alien SOBs and was going home. he'd killed all of his enemies, saved the universe, broke stuff to look tough, and then got away in a longsword with seconds to spare.

Halo 2 has boss-fights, something that was never in Halo, and halo was good because it didnt have cliched boss fight. Halo 2 is more about the story than the gameplay, which makes it less replayable. The whole heap of dark flood levels should be kept to a minimum. here there were about 5 of them, instead of 2 in the original.

And the ending. MC has not killed all the bad guys, instead of a nice neat and tidy happy ending where cortana and MC go off and have kids they are on opposite sides of the galaxy. MC gets no climax at all, in fact he ends on a boring pitch black-like flood level. Instead the game ending on a cliffhanger bigger than the ones on the silent cartographer!
Go forth Bungie and make Halo 3. NO BOSS fights. NO CLIFFHANGER endings, we want to be satisfied and the end and not feel jibbed.

Uh ive got it all out.
BTW i did a 2.5 English Exam coupla hours ago

Out Out, Brief Candle, life is but a shadow, a poor player that struts his hour apon the stage and then is heard to more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifing nothing. (bad thing)

Willy Shakespeare is a very angry man, italia!

neways the nice tied of conclusion is like the original Matrix. Neo has got the girl, saved his friends, got out just in time before the bad guys (sentinels as well) all cark it.
Matrix Reloaded ends on the jibbiest ending ever! Neo in a coma, Agent Smithereens in the real world, a huge TO BE CONTINUED sign. Anyone see a simularity to Halo 2??? At least we only had to wait half a year for it to be continued. Halo 3 will be in two and a half years.

I agree with everything da master chef has to say. Also i feel soory for Cortana having to hang out with that weird-ass monster for the rest of eternity. Hopefully, if there is another game, someone goes back to save her. The only problem with that is that all constructs are designed to eventually 'self-destruct' so to speak because they get too smart and basically burn out (Halo: First Strike).

My hotplates go to 11.

gee thanks kdogg, your a legend

Expanding on my earlier points, (gotta remember im out of the exam)

Halo 2's campaign is much less replayable
Lots of effort was put into Xbox Live.
No bots, because they couldnt be stuffed. No frankie, its NOT because bots suck, they are only as good as the programmers

Xbox Live is a paid extra, yet it is so essiential to have fun with the game, because time came out of the other areas for it!
The cliffhanger ending is meant to secure EVERYONE who bought Halo 2 to get numero 3 and for no other reason

Bungie keeps on saying they all about the fans, but the fans wanted bots badly! You could be playing Xbox LIve quality games whenever you wanted, but you cant. If bots were in, not as many people would buy good ol' Xbox Live and Microsoft would get less money. that is the only explanable reason for both bots and the campaign cliffhanger (how hard is it to make a last level where MC saves Earth and kills Truth??)

When they Made Halo2 Originaly the X-Box console could not support the game...so on Feb 9th, i think X-box2 will come out with the Halo 3 game as a kick off.

THe only reason why Halo 2 was short is because the System couldnt handle the first version, hence why it took 5 years to release it.

Then again Feb 9th could mean alot of things...who knows...

HALO 3 HAS GOT TO:
Have something to do with that WERID Monster Tentacle Thing that invades the covenant building with cortana still in at the end of Halo 2 (After Credits).
I was like WHAT MASTER CHEIF DIDNT TAKE HER WITH HER at the end of Level 14 !
I think that The Monster has a connection with the Flood !

Also Earth Has to have something to do with THE ARK !

They have to carry on the HALO Series because.... weve Destroyed Instalation 04 and Weve been On Instalation 05 !

In Level 14 cortana says she can blow up halo with the engines of the ship that crashed ! So maybe that has somethign to do with halo 3 ? Well thats what i think she said anyway !

All halos activated, Then why flood still alive ?

People always said there will be a Halo 2 Because there is not enough answers in halo 1 ! Thats the same thats happened with Halo 2 !

i believe that the monster is the brain of the flood a dictator if you will but the flood appeared to be growing inside the ship so maybe its trying to control it

i think most of the spartans are still alive because in the begining of halo2 the elite took his fleet and followed the The Pillar of Autumn then on reach the reming spartans could of fought off the left over covanent then they could get off the planet and come to earth

Hey Dragoon,
When you were talking about Coral...that is a place they talk about in ILB. If I remember correctly that planet has something to do with Spartans. http://ilovebees.com
