I voted plasma pistol... its so -blam!-... it takes no skill to wield due to its MASSIVE tracking distance.. if you use it your pathetic!
Ooooh CaliviNAlviN is name-calling. It's true, it has massive tracking.
But you cannot call the people who use it pathetic. You're pathetic. You didn't pick it up and now you're crying because you made the wrong choice and went for a weapon that is more "noble" and "harder to use". Then you died to a "Pathetic Person." That must mean you're extremely pathetic.
If you want to take Plasma Pistol out because it drains your shields, lets take out rocket launcher because it can take out vehicles and has CRAZY tracking on vehicles. Don't forget it has splash damage. Heck, you know what I don't like nades either, lets take those out. And oooh those sniper rifles, they can kill me in one shot or drain my shields. DRAIN MY SHIELDS!!! WTF!!! LIKE O-M-G it's super accurate and if it hits me, it drains my shields. Take it out of the game! Take it out!
You took the words out of my mouth.
Well, more accurately, you took the thoughts out of my head and put them into your own words.
I never understood why some weapons are considered cheap. The first way I think of it is from a customer standpoint - people on these forums might frequently develop their skills enough to shun weapons like the sword or plasma pistol, but not everyone can. How would a new player feel if he or she discovered that every weapon in the game required a lot of skill to use? That player would always lose, and chances are they wouldn't get the chance to develop their skills, especially not before they quit the game in disgust.
With "no skill" weapons, the game still plays, and everyone has fun. The more skilled players normally still win, but the new players can still get kills, and perhaps even a win every once in a while. Then, the more skill-required weapons will be around when that player feels like he or she can practice with them.
But let's assume that every player in the game is skill. As you know, aiming the reticule isn't the whole game (otherwise, it wouldn't be fun at all). And of course there are melees, timed jumps, radar watching/crouching, and grenades. But even then, that isn't all that a skilled Halo 2 player will encompass. Adding weapons that are easy to use creates balance as well as strategy. You know that certain weapons get easy kills, so you need to account for that in your strategy, adding that to your knowledge of the map.
Every weapon is there to make the game that much better.
And seriously - the plasma pistol isn't a big deal at all.
