I know with H3 right around the corner this idea should be reserved for later times but I just want to know what people think about it. What if Bungie and M$ made an Arcade version of CE's multiplayer portion? Not the campaign; just the 13-19 maps (if you want or don't want to include the PC additions) with the weapons and vehicle exactly as it was in Halo CE. It'd be so cool. Then you would be able to play your favorite version on XBL. I would totally be willing to sink $10-15 to get that. What do you guys think?

But unfortunately Bungie is in the business for money, and the money is where the casual gamers are. Halo 1 was just to difficult and skill based orientated to appeal to the mass gamers. To appeal to the casual, mass gamer halo 2 was born, and by the looks of halo 3 beta, halo 3 will unfortunately be the same.

Ooooh he did not go there!?

First of H2 is not a casual game; it's hardcore as hell. Secondly, you just kicked yourself off my good side when you drug in skill.

I don't know where you guys come from, telling me that handcannon of yours is balanced or skillbased but that's a crock of crap. Eight guys run into the center of BC with a pistol on RP, who wins? The lowliest newb has just as good a chance as the truely skilled. With a three shot kill certainty it's all just one big dice role. I've told you that not because you'll see anything different on H2 but that itself is my point; there is no difference. They're both all one big dice role. That being said I've seen guys enter the center of Coag with a Rocket Launcher ownly to be gunned down by savy BR men. True H2 has a boost in aim assist but that doesn't tilt the favor towards one man; the field is still even. There is more emphasis on "power" weapons; only for the best. Whats the use of all the weapons if the one you start out with trumps them all? H2 is more dynamic. If someone has a different weapon, you need to take that into consideration. That doesn't make it casual or cheap.

I'm done with my little tyraid. Please, refrain from mentioning that anymore

Bungie WILL NOT make Halo on XBL, so GIVE UP! Just stop! You wanna play online so badly, get on XBC as previously stated. Well it would be fun, but the download times for people with slow internet would be terrible. Unless they already had the map installed.

I played it quite a bit. School functions, PC, Splitscreening. I'm know pro but I'm well knowledeable of all three games (if you count Beta). That's just my take. The pistol can go into a fight with just about any other weapon with odds greater than fifty percent on its side. Only on the extremes does its superiority waine (real close: rocket; real far: sniper) I don't like that.

As for the smarta$$ who came in here for the sake of condesention, screw you. I just personally thought of this with no inspiration from anyone else. Plus my life does extend beyond this game. Don't treat everyone like they should come into these forums knowing everything. Let me have my ten minutes of "what ifs".

Actually..... From that comment I assume he played a lot of CE considering every game I ever played was like that. Honestly, what was the point in even having other weapons? The rocket launcher and sniper were the only ones anyone used besides the pistol.

Heh, sounds like you never played much halo 1 MP either.

Plus, isn't the BR used pretty much all the time in halo 2? I mean, even from the average to the pro player, all anyone ever uses is the BR. Halo 1's games had more weapon variety than halo 2.

Have you ever played Halo:CE? Three shotting is VERY rare against good players, and for new players using the pistol is extremely difficult. I'd say at least 90% of the time the better player will win a pistol fight, whereas only about 60% of the time the better player wins the BR fight (of course, these numbers will vary a little as skill levels converge and diverge).

Why not? The point is to express our desire to Bungie and thus show that there is a sizable population out there that really wants this product. Bungie wouldn't even have to do it in-house (since all that would have to be done is redoing the net code). If Bungie were a smart business, and I believe they are, then they would appreciate all this free marketing information.

I'm only telling you guys what I've seen. And quit telling me I don't play CE. You don't know me; quit making assumptions. And yes; I can go online in PC and drop people with the pistol in three shots with realative ease I probably average around four and a half pulls but three is not an oddity like you claim it is. But the mouse and keyboard are ackward for me so I don't play very often.

Yes, the BR/Carbine is the go to for mid range but people seem to mix it up more on H2.

This is a RETICULE, and that is a RETICLE. I'm using the latter to aim. And what are you using?

That's the PC version, NOT the console version. As everyone knows, it's a lot easier to aim accurately with a mouse than with a gamepad's joystick, so the ease of three-shotting on the PC does not translate to the Xbox.

I seriously doubt that you can consistently 3SK on HPC if the mouse and keyboard is too awkward for you. That's Halo PC, anyway, which I would never consider a proper substitute or an equality to true Xbox Live-enabled play for Halo: Combat Evolved.
