I never thought that this day would come. I must be getting old. How is a (dare I say it) thirty year old supposed to compete with the hand eye co-ordination of a younger gamer. My GOD!! Us older folks weren't built with MULTI-Player in mind. Freaking Pac man was considered intense in my day. Hell, I've found REAL combat to be easier to follow.

Must need new bifocals or something.........

Back in my day I had to actually WALK to my teammate to chat with him. Uphill both ways! And in a blizzard! And we didn't have shoes, our parents just tied rocks and broken glass to our feet! And we didn't complain!

Nice to see that all of you are so sympathetic.........

While it is true that my reflexes might not be up to your speed, there is something to be said about playing realism in mind. I don't understand why it is that all you young'ins insist on rushing through everything. Has it ever occured to you that the journey might be the good part and not the ending??

That being said, i recently spoke with an old army buddy, who no instructs. Apparently now that the youth of the world are getting a little older, some of them are giving the real thing a shot. Paybacks a -blam!-.

GUess what boys..... real world hurts at times. And just cause you say it in a game and on the Boob Tube, doens't make it so. I mi8ght be over the hill, but I'll still clean your clock in the real world.

And perhaps a larger TV will increase my odds on LIVE. At least, thats the excuse I'm giving the wife.

DON'T PANIC!!

Officium quod Fidelitas.

54 in Plasma, yes, that will help a lot... Not to mention, it will probably hurt wallet too. But yes, people try to connect videogames to the real world all the time, it just doesn't work.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Im 14 and I have an... er... 30ish inch CRT screen? What do you call the not special kind of TV? I can still own a few people though. I'm not the best.

For the Record, I'm a very haggard 30. Rough life and all that crap. And as for the plasma....... the olny plasma that I'll be seeing will be through an IV, perhaps administered after the blunt force trauma of me banging my head against the wall.

Picked up Ghost Recon 2

Much better than all the bouncing you do in Halo. Not that there's anything wrong with Halo.

Well C.

Does anyone know if it's safe to hook a console up to a LCD? I hear that plasma gets burned pretty easy.

Chow.

It's a myth, there's no burn in on plasma these days.

Here is part of one of the comedian John Heffron's video game bits: "Back in my video game days, we had to walk up hill, both ways, and giant gorillas that kidnap pricesses threw barrels at you." Funny stuff.

I don't think you do. Nobody owns a 64 inch plasma for home use. It's not practical, or affordable.

Doom was my first deathmatch. That was 13 years ago!!! On a PC with less RAM than most mobile phones have these days.
I think the bottom line, is that we "older" gamers have other responsibilities that clog our synapses, Jobs, collecting dole cheques, scraping up roadkill for dinner. Just doesn't allow for the speed and freedom of thought we enjoy in our youth.
Make the most of it young 'uns, your days are numbered.

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

I think we all remember the classics. And it does add a sense of pain when you get beat by someone who doesn't know the difference between Mexico and New Mexico. I tends to hurt one's self confidence. It's one thing being beaten, it's another when that person is a small child you could arugablym (with the age difference), be the father of.
