I just walked into JB Hi-Fi in Chatswood (Sydney, Australia) and saw Halo 2 for vista. "Sweet, I didn't think this was out..." Picked it up. Tryed to install it and it gave me this:
"The graphics driver on this computer is out of date. You should update the graphics driver on this computer before running Halo 2 for Windows Vista. You may experience problems running Halo 2 for Windows Vista if you choose to continue without updating.
Your computer's graphics driver version information:
Driver name: nvd3dum.dll
Driver version: 7.15.10.9746
Please click the link below to obtain an updated driver from the manufacturer's website."
Now that wouldn't be an issue if my drivers actually were out of date. So anyway, I tried running it regardless of the error message and found it at first to run extremely smooth, then a new cutscene kicked in and it became broken at about 1 frame per 20 seconds with heaps of sound overlapping and then when the game started it continued to run at a broken level. I figured "hey maybe I just have the graphics too high", so i put it all down to lowest and then it worked fine for awhile. Almost too fine actually, maybe it was just the extra fps but it felt too fast, like it was slightly sped up, and had continual jitters. Then a cut scene kicked in and everything went straight to -blam!- again. So I got sick of it and went looking for a cure.
So I look for some patch only to find a lot of people angry at delays. So I'm guessing no one here can really help me out with this little problem?
