Host is determined by the matchmaking system. It used to be true that if you got host boxes in matchmaking you were guaranteed that one of your team got host, thats not true anymore. Host make a huge difference on maps like tombstone and desolation. On maps like Midship and Warlock as long as the connection isnt laggy then host dosent make that big of a difference.

Dont get me wrong, if you have host its sort of like spawning with the sniper and everyone else on Coagulation spawning with an SMG. Its always an advantage thats meant to be taken advantage of. Use it wisely and know how to play on host and youll win alot more games.

Just wondering how you actually know if your host of not? I saw somewhere that said disabling your firewall could help u get host, is this true? Also does host have like some quicker fire mechanism due to no lag?

Disabling the firewall will reduce your lag a little, which MIGHT get you host more often, but that's a bad idea.

No firewall=no protection. A lot of people online can easily get your IP during a game and do something nasty to you since your firewall is disabled.

When you go into matchmaking, or any custom game, hold down the "back" button and see who spawns first. That is host. Well usually. When hosts leave the game almost resets itself, it makes weapons spawn again, and things appear even though you blew them up. etc. Also what exactly is the host's advantage?Fast connection, making everything count.

You know how you go into SWAT and you can't shoot someone across the map, but host can? Well, That is a great advantage, also with host, it is soo hard to kill, well unless you are good, that is.........

I hate it when I keep shooting him, with all of my clips in a BR or something, and it does nothing.....-_-

I could never figure out how to tell who's Host.
I've had a few rounds in Team Snipers that someone will be Blam!-ing about shooting me and me not even getting injurred, assuming that would equal Host, but also have had the other side waaaayyy more often, empty a clip into someone, grenades and all, only to have him straff back and forth and kill me.

Sometimes the lag in the game doesn't seem to affect this 'host' and they can 'ice skate' around avoiding death.

Sometimes, I really hate when other people are hosts. For Example, I was Playing Tower of Power and I had my Shotgun and my friend on the other side had his shotgun, I shot and retreated so none of the shots hit him ( I know that sounds stupid, but he was the best with shotguns) and he shot me, while still in the same place as I retreated, and I died...
Stupid hosts...
