LMAO u actually think that a old game like "Halo pc" --it's a very cool game anyway-- can beat h2v.....remember patches will exist
Unless these patches are going to remove all the glitches and add in better support for the mouse and keyboard and an improved overhaul of the visuals, I don't think that will help.

Okay i will start off by saying that i use and like XFire,
But the problem with pc gaming and xfire is that everything is scattered around too many place. While i do not like the fees for GFWL it is welcome that everything is in one place. Unlike having to run xfire, ventrilo, bittorrent for peer - to - peer, and many other programs. Off topic: Traction r0xx0rz ur b0xx0rz.
On Topic: AlexTepe you are ultimately stupid. XBOX Live is most likely the best online service for consoles. As for the Wii it is good for family games and parties but hardcore gamers won't find any interesting games on it. Sure the Wii has Metroid Prime, Super Smash, great games i have a GC and a DS and those games rock. But on the other hand XBOX has Gears of War, GRAW, RS:Vegas, Assasins Creed. Most of these games probably won't come out for the Wii. Why? Because it's a family console.
Also having to run Ventrilo and constantly alt-tab for video chat during gaming is in my opinion an annoyance. Especialy when Ventrilo hates me(don't ask it just doesn't like me). Yes MMORPGs are a great input. The reason? You pay for high speed servers.
However usual pc games lack a lot of the properties that make console gaming so much fun. Now it is finaly moving to the pc but it is slow.
The attribute I am talking about is customization. Most console games allow you to have a personal look. Now hoepfully GFW is going for the same purpose. Vegas has customization. GRAW 1 does not, despite it's XBOX counterpart having customization. But that is what made GRAW fun on the xbox. Instead of having 8 same looking muppets running around on a map.
If Live will offer me customization in the future i am willing to pay those 50 USD......

For it to be successful, I agree.
However, I also agree with Master Kim's assessment above.

MS seem to have forgotten that we're playing on PC's. Not Consoles. You can't turn the PC into a console.

In hardware terms a console is primarily based on the graphics and logic processing systems of modern day computers, such as PCs.

Correct, but you can't take apart a PS3 and then upgrade it with better parts, nor can you play games with it on the mouse and keyboard. Nor can you print out your term paper.

Those are some of the differences that are vital for telling apart a PC from a console.

I'm not just talking about hardware here or similair development environments, I am talking about the basic needs of the average console gamer. PC Gamers are not this...well...dumb.

I view it as another way to keep my identity across different platforms/games. As opposed to only having my Gamercard on the Xbox 360. Now, instead of using services such as Xfire, or built-in friends list, I have one identity I can use anywhere :]

Damn, I hate it when I have to ask fer people's SNs fer AIM when I'm playing HPC >.>

I hate the idea of pay-2-play services. All consoles out there right now except Xbox have free online. PS3 has it Wii is getting it. Heck I saw some one mod a PS3 to play 360 games using a wii remote and nunchuck. You don't need to pay to be able to buy more things on those console even though there are no others options. Offline modders ftw. I just don't see how M$ can do this any more. Nintendo has already past the 360 in total units sold. I'm not making fun of the 360, its a great system, but I hate the lack of alternatives to freaking live. If you hate the asking about AIM thing, try Halo: CE, almost everyone has xfire.
I have played H2V and its a let down. The mouse is sluggish on any mouse with less then 1000 dpi on max settings. The aim-assist on the controller is just as bad as xbox, and its easy to hack the game to give aim-assist to mouse and keyboard. Plus no custom shaders, scenary, weapons, or vehicles is Fail compared to Halo: CE.

@ART1LL3RY - I don't mind the pay-to-play model on the X360. At least I know I can go into a game, find a game, find my friends and play.

Can't say the same thing about the PS2 or PS3. On those systems it's nearly impossible to know when my friends are on, what they are playing and if I can join them. As for the Wii... if you enjoy having to add everyone's insanely long address to be able to play multiplayer online, be my guest, but that's similar to the issue with the PS2/PS3. Unless you have people's Wii addresses in your address book, your "multiplayer" is going to be limited at best.

Xbox Live! is a great service and I think XBL is worth 50 a year for its ease of use. Games for Windows Live, however, is Microsoft trying to take the XBL model and overlay it onto a platform which has enjoyed online gaming for damn near 15 years to try and turn a recurring profit. They're trying to reinvent the wheel, and I hope their attempts are a dismal failure.
