What is this System wars? With Lemmings, Cows and Sheep? Windows Live is a good idea, but Vista brings it down.

Halo 1 for PC was completely uncomplicated. It took me about five minutes to start playing it. Halo 2 is a maze, at least when I first tried to play. I clicked play and half an hour later I found the "campaign" button.

I have to say Microsoft are playing us about like chess pieces. Windows vista is alot more "Dummy friendly" than XP but alot of flexibility has completely disappeared and its the same with Halo 1 -> Halo 2.

I am dissatisified in that respect. However, Halo 2 is still awesome.

Let's see.
Here are the monthly numbers from the industry-neutral NPD Group:
November 2006 PS3 Units Sold: 197,000
December 2006 PS3 Units Sold: 490,700
January 2007 PS3 Units Sold: 244,000
February 2007 PS3 Units Sold: 127,000
March 2007 PS3 Units Sold: 130,000
April 2007 PS3 Units Sold: 82,000

May's numbers haven't been officially released yet.
So, total tracked sales of the PS3 by the NPD group are 1,270,700.

Since that tends to exclude certain factors (ie. preorders) and doesn't track ALL venues, 3 million seems like a very likely number.

I guess we are talking about two different games then.

You obviously never played Resistance.

Look at Halo, the human weapons are less effective then WWII weapons in game, and the aliens have plasma guns. 500 years in the future and we have a shotgun with only 1.5 meters of rang?

But this really hasn't effected me yet, seeing as how I primarily play RTSs(es?) on PC, and none are on Windows LIVE. Maybe Microsoft will charge now, then one day make it free...? I doubt that would happen ever because this is Microsoft though.

[going back to the old "interface xbox" thing that i couldnt be bothered to read all the replies to]

it's not made FOR an xbox pad, it's made so that both users can use it. The key+mouse user can click the buttons and options, the pad user has the buttons on screen for reference.

[h1 & h2 stuff]
Personally, i still think Halo1 is the better game. It may be because its new at the moment, but every game seems to lack that whole "team" feeling. There's no defence play, no teamwork or player tracking. It just seems that people run around stabbing the 'shoot' button, hoping the weapon hits. In H1 you could always "tell" how much health a player has left from watching them fight, in H2 it seems very random as to if a clip from a gun kills someone or doesn't hurt them. it's all too... cartoony. :(

@Omnious: Which you talking about then.
@Spartan: Well how did you deduce that? Plus come on shotguns will always probably have short range because if you think about it it's easier to create a large devastating blast in short range than in long. -blam!- like air resistance and stuff gets in the way....
Anyhow nor will i ever play resistance thank god. I just hate the whole WW 2 thing. Too many WW 2 FPSs around and one with aliens? meh. Anyhow which RTSs do you play?
Oh and btw microsoft wants to combine RTSs and FPSs in a manner like Natural Selection but cross-platform.

Actually, shotguns now can be used effectively at 40 yards.

Anyhow nor will i ever play resistance thank god. I just hate the whole WW 2 thing. Too many WW 2 FPSs around and one with aliens? meh. Anyhow which RTSs do you play? I play Rise of Nations, Age Of Mythology and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds are the ones I can name off the top of my head..

Oh and btw microsoft wants to combine RTSs and FPSs in a manner like Natural Selection but cross-platform.Haven't played that yet, but I don't know about the idea of not seeing all my troops and not being able to build troops, upgrade weapons and vehicles and building fortifications to defend my bases... Or is that all in there? As long as the RTS is dominant over the FPS in most of them, or balance then I might like them.

Who knows, maybe an FPRTS would be a good thing will become my new favorite genre.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

What are you talking about? Live Anywhere offers cross-platform play, how is that doomed?

Area 51 has cross-platform play.

A gun is a gun. It's firing a projectile at a very high velocity. It's not like shotguns can only reach targets up to two meters away; this isn't Halo.

Don't let the sub-genre turn you off from playing the game, give it a chance.

I think you're referring to a future design in games for the integration between PCs and 360s in regards to Live Anywhere; where a PC gamer plays the game as an RTS while the 360 gamers play it as a FPS, with the person on the PC issuing commands to his troops playing on the 360.

Of course, the only problem with this idea is that PCs can do the real-time strategy portion and the first-person shooter scheme as well, and much better than the 360 ever could.

Are we talking about a shotgun in a gamer or in real life? Shotguns vary in their range based on the gauge, load of the shotgun ammunition, what size shot the shotgun is firing, the choke of the shotgun barrel and what you are trying to hit. Shotguns with rifled bores firing slugs can cleanly take out a deer out to 100-150 yards, but buckshot is limited to about 50 until the shot spreads out too much and loses too much energy.
