Does hired gun even know what they're doing anymore? Or are they just a bunch of screaming ninnies who happened to wander into Microsoft at just the right time to be arbitrarily chosen to make the PC port of Halo 2?
Today I called around to see about the release date of H2V. One Gamestop I called said that it's been delayed again to May 31. The other gamestop I called said that they don't know, because they never got a real date. When I called Walmart, they said they had no idea because the only date they got was May 8.
Whats more, from what Ive heard from people who got it early, the game is poorly optimised, and potentially has install problems. Not to mention the fact that the game is very demanding hardware-wise for a game that's 2.5 years old.
And don't get me started on idiotic, unnecessary features.
1. Tray and play: Oh joy. A feature that will let me play the game 20 minutes earlier, at the expense of prolonging the overall install time.
2. Windows Live and Matchmaking: Who in their right mind would want this? Why would you deviate from the tried and proven system of a simple list of servers that has been used in every successful online game in the past few years?
I blame Jo Clowes and her pronounciation of "Halo 2 Vister". Sorry if this post sounds whiny. I needed to vent.
Yepp, Windows Live PHAILS in the epic run.
And Tray & Play is the most worthless piece of -blam!- feature to come for PC gaming. If ya'll can't wait 5-20 minutes for a game to install, go get a freakin' console.
