For the people who have it, is there something wrong with it? I heard that's why a lot of stores don't have it.

Nothing wrong with it. Just the specs are super-high. Requirements\Perforamance similar if not more demanding than F.E.A.R.

There has been recent discussion and a possible total product recall concerning the installation of the game. Otherwise, it has it's fair share of glitches that will impact Online/Offline gameplay. But it's Halo 2, true and true.

At least this is a much better port than we have seen from H1PC (I cannot believe people still insist that it is a good port).

lol yeah, how come all the "great" games that have such a huge campaign and are advertised everywhere, end up getting delayed, recalled, or somehow, lost. Microsoft did a great job advertising, but blew it on the release, great job Bill. Just saying it from my perspective, but im really excited about the game, im getting Vista for it for free from my sister, she has a class in University of Washington and Microsoft gave the University a bunch of Vista CD's

Last time I checked, PC Gamer gave Halo PC a score of 85%--despite it's flaws, it still fared better than Halo 2 PC, with a score of 6.6/10. 'Nuff said.

I still think they were badly done ports, though. :)

What it is.

I think H2V was a great port, although once again, optimization still needs to get a lot better with ports. The higher textures/resolutions alone make the game look wonderful. The only bad thing i'd have to say about the game is that they didn't take out the button combo's....This is a problem because stupid people will set them for macros.

Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity

I bought the game and it's far from painless, but it is actually quite playable as long as you have the rig to run it.

Here are my takes:

- DO NOT PLAY & INSTALL THE GAME AT THE SAME TIME. This new "feature" just simply doesn't work. I decided to do that and I had zero audio. I had to remove the game and reinstall it but this time I selected to install the game an not run it. Once installed I had audio.

- Limited available resolutions. In the video settings, you only have a handful of pre-defined resolutions:

800x600
1024x768
1280x720
1280x1024
1920x1080

Basically is standard VGA modes, and standard HDTV (720p and 1080i/p). If you have any funky mode like I do (1176x664) you are out of luck as I have not found any way yet to force custom resolutions

- You need a somewhat powerful rig to run this bad boy. Actually if you have an Xbox-equivalent machine the game won't even launch... there's some irony there. Here's what I have that makes the game run pretty smooth:

Core 2 Duo E6400 @2.62GHz OC
Asus P5N-E SLI Mobo
2GB DDR2 Corsair XMS2 PC-6400
eVGA 8800 GTS 640MB GDDR3
720 W Antec Power supply, 12V @ 24A for PCIe Gfx
160 GB HDD (20GB, 120GB)
Vista Home Premium

All of the above gave me a 5.2 Windows index... you need a recommended 5 (recommended means you have this or else is crappy :) ) to run the game I believe.

If you can take all of the above go forth and buy, getting those achievements and gamerscore points should not be that hard.

There honestly is something wrong with some of these games. It's not working for everyone.
