Are you going to make the trip mine less obvious? Yes, I've put it to use...but it's so blatantly obvious, you're not going to get a smart player with it. Even if it's in a hail of gunfire while retreating...I've tried that method, and people notice the massive orange beeping mine being tossed out. It's highly ineffective against smart players as is. I've placed it at man-cannon landing points, under warthogs(Which seems to be the most effective, but very inefficient cuz people don't always use the warthog), in strategic locations to keep it from being visible till the last second. Still..if the player has a lick of sense...they notice/avoid it. Everything else is impeccable.
Another question: Is it possible to tweak the military rankings? Have the military rankings apply per playlist like the number rankings. Also, is it possible to make ranks a bit harder to attain? For instance, make it to where you have to earn achievements to attain a new rank, not just win games. Achievements like double kills, killing sprees, kill frenzies, sniper sprees, shotty sprees, from the graves, killjoys, etc. Make quotas of earning these things to earn new ranks. Which, that'd just be for slayer. For Skirmish you could take it to flag caps, and kills..etc Just an idea.
Another question: I know it's not the final product. I'm just concerned. The MM lobby is highly ineffective right now. I can't tell you how many times I've been waiting for a game, and I'll get matched up, just to start all over again. it'd be one thing if it was like in Halo 2 where you guys reset the lobby so that you can block cheaters. You're actually trying to find cheaters to exploit glitches etc in the game right now. So, I'm just concerned that something to this effect will be in the final product. Or maybe that's one of the major issues you're trying to work out with the beta? I realize that I may be concerned for nothing, but I just wanted to bring it to your attention just in case. It normally happens to me multiple times before it finally settles on a game.
Another question: Is it too late to integrate weather patterns into the game? I know it might be something a lot of people wouldn't find fun, and you have to focus on marketability as well. However, if this is something you could integrate into the final product, that would totally enhance the strategy. Nighttime games, snow on Snowbound sometimes....rainy days, etc. There's a wide variety of things you could do with a weather engine. Just curious.
Another question: Is it possible to bring Clan matches back to matchmaking? I'm sure you could have worked out a way to fix the problems you encountered in Halo 2 by now. Clans are almost pointless other than having another friends list, and playing custom clan matches, but it's so hard to find clans that are willing to do this, and actually coordinate a time with them. I would greatly appreciate you reinstating the clan matches for one. I'm sure I'm far from being the only one.
