This semptember I will be a highschool senior. After graduation I would like to start a career in Level design. What type of education would you suggest I get so oneday I could work at Bungie. There is one program at Simon Fraser University B.C. called Interactive Media and Design. From what I can see it would give me a strong background in design, and working in teams seems to be a high priority in this course.

Posting on bungie.net should require that the user has had to have read a chapter book all the way through.

Damn you roor!

awesome one day I would love to work for bungie.

 • 05.23.2007 10:44 AM PDT

TO THE NEIGHBOR'S!!!

Thanks for this Q&A article Frankie and Kari. I know there are a lot of us out there that would love to be part of Bungie's quest for world domination. If I see a job open up for general tech/network support, I'll be sure to tempt fate.

Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Great interview. It'll be very useful right now and i'm pleased to say i've not done any of the "don'ts". Why would anyone include a picture of themselves drinking?

 • 05.23.2007 10:49 AM PDT

HyperGrunt

Wow, it takes allot to get into Bungie!

 • 05.23.2007 10:51 AM PDT

Does Bungie use Kari and Corestaff exclusively, or are they open to using other search firms for specific positions?

 • 05.23.2007 10:55 AM PDT

GT: AuziesWrath :)

Yay!! Nice interview...

First page! My opinions shall be heard!!

Spartan Laser is.... I won't go there, lets just say, It doesn't make sense how you walk half a mile per hour with the Pod Launcher, and you can barely get a kill with it, while the Spartan Laser kills warthogs in one shot and people getting killing spree's with it.

Oh, and I found a bug, Mongoose can fit in the tunnel on High Ground, and when you step out, you go flying through the pipe.

Nice interview. I plan on going into game design after high school, I'd like to be a concept artist, do a little programming and whatnot. I'd really like to make the villains, they're usually more interesting.

If I ever get good Bungie is definitely receiving an App. from me.

 • 05.23.2007 11:01 AM PDT

Without God I am weak, but with him I am unstoppable....I know who my lord is........Do you?

I would seriously consider working for Bungie, but the only downside is you have to stay up all night and you hardly get any sleep and you probably have no time to do much else. I don't know it's just my opinion but it would still be cool to work for bungie!!!

Its funny how you moan about spell checking and making sure the resume and cover letter are free of errors, yet the article has a dangling < p> tag at the bottom. Good work!

You may want to fix this part:
<br< p>

Probably to:

It is my aspiration in life to beat all three Halo games on Legendary.

If that doesn't work out then I want a job making other people play hard games at Bungie! :) This interview has been great and made me remember that a job isn't assured. TYVM!

P.S. WOOT! First page!

I wonder if the filtering at bungie is so detailed that you have to send a resume to be an intern there?

*sweet. 1st page!*
LOL I hope working for bungie is as easy as they make it sound.

My 1st sentence would be something like this...

Dear Bungie, I will not lie and pretend I am good at composing a compelling hook that will draw you into my application however, I will say that I am good at...

*end of application* Actually, I lied. I am good at making hooks.

"Don't you know?...Spartans never die".

The information is great, but where do you start when looking into a career of game design?

I am currently in high school and i am wondering if there is any certain path to take in order to obtain a job at Bungie. Game design is a relatively new field of work and not most schools or colleges seem to have courses for game design, where should i start?

Thanks - it was an interesting read.

For all of my kidding around here on the boards, I can confirm that Kari is awsome (I toyed with the idea of applying for cinematics, so I had some interaction) ... she's done an effective job of getting the talent into bungie, and for that the fans should be grateful.

The Noble and Heroic DriedMoss, member of Reaching Perfection and the ever-growing kick-ass Halo community.

What we need is a good tester to get in the doors and make an on the job training program. Bungie is looking more and more like a company that caters to the heavily experienced, and getting in is about the same as getting a ticket on the first space flight. Not impossible, but well worth the price of admission. That's why we love our Bungie, because not just any run of the mill developer/programmer/mathematician can reside there.
