In our group forum, it seems as though the 'sorting' for the threads is messed up. They're not in order by date of recent post. It seems like somehow some threads are stuck in their location and the other threads are jumping over them somehow. Sometimes threads jump over the stickied threads too.

I emailed Bungie about this bug a while back but it still hasn't been fixed. Is anyone else having the same problem?

I've had that happen in the main forums, too... My thread > Recon's sticky, obviously. [;

Ironically, that thread actually got stickied a short while later. :\

When this happens, you can almost always repair by pinning and unpinning a thread to force the forum to rebuild its topic index using correctly updated pin status.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

What exactly is going on? Is everything getting sorted out or what? I know your main focus is the Beta and then Chapters. I expect it to be cleared up after a while.

I noticed threads being randomly deleted and locked (seemingly, by ghost moderators) in the chapters on the first day that this problem arose. It hasn't happened since then, though.

Da Soul is loose.
End of the world and all that jazz.

This is still happening in almost every forum, public and private.

In general, I recommend you all to back-up any important information in your groups. I've already had one of my more important threads be deleted because of this glitch.

I had to radically alter how the forums cache data because the old way was highly inefficient and hurting performance as we had to scale traffic capacity. There were a few issues with the first attempt. Recently, we just ripped it out again and replaced it with more empahsis on output caching rather than data caching (since things change so often on the database side from the forums). That has things working much better, but there still seems to be the odd sorting bug here and there. But the fixed caching should make it so that the system auto-corrects it self much of the time.

I may have to run a manual reindexing tool soon to fix any data corruption that might be in there, but that is time consuming and requires the forums to be offline.

I'm not really sure. The first day that I noticed this glitch, five different threads were deleted from my group forum.
