Just picked this up a CC. Cannot switch to 1920x1080. Minimizes to desktop and crashes! Exactly what I said. Anyone know what's going on here?

Using Geforce 7900GS.

Does your monitor support the resolution?

Read the post two above mine. Some computer monitors (especially the non-flatscreen ones) can't support higher resolutions.

Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity

I had that same problem for 1280x720. Here's what I did to fix it.

- First of all, I assume your monitor (HDTV perhaps?) can handle the resolution you want at the refresh rate you want. If it does not, stop right here since there's little to nothing you can do about that other than buying a new Monitor.

- Adjust your display to the resolution you want, or maybe higher WITHOUT launching the game. Make sure you don't get any weird effects when doing this, if so there's a chance your monitor/videocard may be the problem after all.

- Check that you have the latest drivers for your card. NVIDIA's is 158.18, don't know about ATI's.

- If everything is stable, launch the game. Select the desired resolution BUT lower the quality and do not use AA. The game may minimize to the taskbar, try to maximize it. If it works then you are halfway there. If not, your card definitely cannot handle the monster frames. If it does work, slowly increase the quality so to see what the limiting factor is.

After I did all of the above the game now works. I even have my desktop display a lower resolution for day-to-day activities and when launching the game the resolution re-adjusts itself and runs quite smoothly.

Ok guys I fixed it. I had to restart my PC after downloading the H2V update from Live. Now it works flawlessly. I have a Westinghouse LVM-37W3 1080p LCD 37". Looks great with game now!!
