It adds some replay value to the game. I like playing knowing, I am working towards something (ranking). Not to mention, it was cool how you would be grouped with people of your similar skill level. This is all gone for Halo2 pc. Clan features are also missing and stats are not available on bungie.net.

Please leave a reply, so Bungie know's that pc gamer's want these features that we enjoyed in the XBOX version of HALO2.

Taken83oveR signs.

who says you have to be an ace to have fun?

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

/me does NOT sign.

Ranks just lead to stat whores, glitchers, cheaters, and all other sorts of miscreants.

what can you expect, it was a highly anticipated game, made by an unknown group of people called Hired Gun, had a very small budget and very little time to finish it, so they could fix all the problems

True.

But I still would like some form of stat tracking.

Aj6627, the advantages strongly out way the disadvantages. There will be cheater's regardless.

What are the advantages to rankings?(not stat tracking, which would be cool)

Please list them in a numbered list so it is easy to rebut.(if neccessary)

I know something we should get M$ or someone to sign...how about they fix the update they just put out today. It makes the games very laggy. You guys who don't have it yet better hope it gets fixed before you pick it up. Everyone who I was playing with today hated it, and were lagging like crazy. It was even lagging on their own servers.

I do not feel the need to list advantages, if you are just going to downplay it. The majority of the user's who play Halo are legit. If you want to let a few cheater's ruin the experience for you, then that's on you. But me, and probably the majority of the people here, would love to see the those features brought over to the pc platform.

As for the patch. I got it Yesterday and have had no problem's with it. Ive played maybe 10-15 games, which were all lag free. The game has crashed on me a couple times though, but I can't really blame the game for that, as it could be driver related.

In other words, there are no advantages to a number next to your name.

Also, please, start a poll here and see what the majority says in regards to rankings on the PC. ;)

Yep. Since, I already know the most likely result, I don't feel the need to bother with it.

No one is proposing having a meaningless number next to your name, at all. Taken is right--ranking is fine. It just shouldn't have to be next to your 'Tag.

Taken very clearly stated that in the OP. I agree with Aj6627; enabling ranks is a fine way to encourage cheating (which includes glitching, BTW). Ranks are fine for matchmaking, so long as they aren't public. Let the server rank people according to "skill" so that it can match people of similar "skills," just don't let anyone see their rank.

Which is more or less what you said. My bad.

Let there be CHAOS!

I really could've sworn Bungie said there would be some form of ranking in H2V.
