3: Clan features
4: Ranking system

These things all add replay value, and were available on the Xbox, but are missing on the PC platform. Let your voice be heard.

They will be, but as it's only been out two days, the features might not be ready yet. When Games for Windows--LIVE goes online (which it may have, I don't know) there will be those features available. You need a Gold account to use Matchmaking, though.

I have had the game a couple day's now, and yes it comes with 30 day's of gold access. I just added that time to my subscription (I own a 360). One weird thing that makes me think, these features are not here, is that you can join a game in progress. I never remember being able to do this on the Xbox ,as that would kinda defeat the purpose of matchmaking.

The features are not there. I have Gold access.

Let there be CHAOS!

Hired Gun's idea of matchmaking is throwing you into a random dedicated server even if it's in the middle of a game and there are no people in it. It's the most useless feature I've ever seen.

It is (at least was supposed to be) included in a Gold GFWL membership. Jus another thing MS/Bungie/Hired Gun charged us for then accidentally forgot to put in the game.

God, if they don't put out a patch soon, heads are going to roll.

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

It is included in a Live Gold account. But, and this is a big however, it was NOT mandated to be in every game. The same with truskill.

You think with the very first XBL game for Vista, they would want to showcase the Gold features.

Nope. Don't fix what's not broken. Clan stuff would be nice, but "meh".

You can't break it, if it's not there to break. It worked fine on Xbox, proof that it could also work fine on the PC platform.

Ok, then straight up "No." Matchmaking with lobbies and stuff is the most annoying thing I've ever experienced in gaming. You have to wait forever for it to match people up. I'd rather choose a reliable server that always has good admins and a good map/game type rotation. I can be on that server in under a minute from the desktop depending on load time (Xfire ftw). MM won't deliver that.

Ranks/stats/etc. would be good if they were FREE. Like the BF series.

You have to wait? If you are so impatient, then use the Lobby, but some of us want the matchmaking. Stats would be nice? The whole point of stats, is for matchmaking, which is too slow for your taste.

Sorry I don't like waiting ~10mins after every round...

You can have MM all you want, I'm not getting H2V anyways :P

I see. You just hang out in the PC forum because...... (list lame reason here)
And I found this, which worries me a bit.

There were many challenges moving the existing system to the PC. First and foremost, the Xbox version by design needs a lot of gamers to be online or the matchmaking waits can become really long. If the first people to buy “Halo 2” for Windows Vista had to wait 30 minutes to be set up for a simple match, they’d be pretty ticked off. Knowing that PC gamers are simply used to a game browser, we voted to make a change in the way players enter multiplayer matches. Typical PC gamers also like exceeding control over what they’re doing, while mucking with the advanced settings in any program which allows it. The game browser provides that advanced control, while assuring we get to choose the game to play. If there weren’t a browser, it just wouldn’t feel like a PC game – it would feel like an Xbox game that was jerry-rigged to run on a PC.

Looks like it was never intended to be in HALO2 PC.

It will proboly improve, i looked it up and the LIVE feature will be used for other games then just H2V. So its quite possible that it will improve over time.

When you play HPC what do you mainly hear...AIMBOTTER, and HAXER. Having rankings and macthmaking could fix this or make it worse.

No, match making was one of the things that killed Halo 2 Xbox for me. One of the reasons why there was so much cheating was because a lot of people wanted to get their ranks up because it was something to flaunt. I don't want to bring that attitude to the PC.

This was taken from the FAQ section on this forum:

"Bungie has stated that there will be no ranking or player stat tracking systems for Halo 2 Vista, nor will it offer clan support."

So how would matchmaking work w/o ranking? A team of 4 good players could be matched up against a team of 4 novice players, making the game unenjoyable for both teams. The good thing about Halo2Xbox is that it matched up players with teams of somewhat equal skill level.

So Why not have both? let all the hax and arrogant n00bs do matchmaking while you do dedi's.

The whole Idea of paying for something that's inferior is way over my head. lemee just say the 60 bucks i spent on crackdown/h3 beta was a WAY better deal than the 250 some of you spent for ANOTHER half-baked port.... and don't say I didnt warn you.

I don't know if there will be enough people playing to do matchmaking with ranking. I just hate getting housed all the time it kills the game. playing with others at your skill is more fun
