hey dik head you want to point out where in my post I was ignorant?

You can't create a server and play in Halo 2 PC with silver. You can only create a dedicated server with silver. Halo 2 PC has worse modding tools. To mark a server as a favourite you have to have a gold account in Halo 2 PC.

lolol you call me ignorant because i didnt mention that with a silver account you cant create your own server and add a server as a favourite..

If anyone is ignorant around here YOU are the ignorant one

Out of all the benefits a free silver account gives you.. you name the most weakest draw backs of not having a gold account. GG

I don't know whats wrong with commanderZx2, but rapieR iPro is right, the only real difference between silver and gold accounts is with gold you can play aganist people on their 360. Perhaps if he had gone to gamesforwindows.com and clicked on the live icon and actualy read what it said he might know that. also what the big problem with gold? what a little over 4 dollars a month, you cant afford that.

You can't do that with Halo 2. Just Cross-Platform games like Shadowrun.

Excuse me for pointing out the obvious, but you don't need to pay a subscription to play Halo 2 Vista. Online multiplayer is free on Silver accounts, and it always will be. This has been stated by the Windows LIVE team multiple times. The only multiplayer support that you have to pay to enjoy is cross-platform play; which Halo 2 Vista doesn't even support anyway.

So, in closing, please stop the complaints about being forced to pay money in order to play Halo 2 Vista multiplayer. You don't have to. You aren't forced to. It's free. Anyone that says or complains otherwise is simply uneducated about Windows LIVE.

all those people that voted yes for this are either console lovers or they are spending their parents money and not earning their own. i mean who wants to willingly spend money when they dont have to or didnt have to for the same product/service they have been getting for free.

Multiplayer combat on Halo 2 Vista is free. Just like all the other first person shooter games everyone is used to. Why is everyone complaining?

You didn't say anything about voice chat, servers, or anything else that goes with the gold either. Do you want me to assume that I can read minds now?

their you go again inserting stuff into what i said. the reason i did'nt say anything about voice chat is because you can get it for either gold or silver maybe if you actualy went to the website i listed you might know that. the other reason i did'nt say anything more about gold is because i was talking about the REAL difference between gold and silver, not little chicken scratch issues.

Would you please read what I wrote? I made it bold above. I know that might not help you, so allow me to restate: Multiplayer combat for Halo 2 Vista is FREE. You are not required to pay ANY money to play against other people in Halo 2 Vista. Absolutely nothing. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nein. Non. Yes, there are features in the Gold account that you would have to pay for if you should you choose to pay for them. However, if you want to play multiplayer for free, you are FREE to do so. Go have a blast!

Does this help?

TRUTH.
I cannot agree more. This poll really does not make any sense to me.
Who likes fees in general?

The fact that there are silver and gold options helps a little, but since the question is "do you like the subscription fee...", it sort of implies we're talking about Gold.

Maybe if you're really twisted you actually enjoy giving Microsoft money, but I think most of us are the complete opposite.

No offense intended to the OP, and not trying to stoke the fire, just puttin in my 2 cents.

He was replying to the indication in your first post where you had said: --> "on H2V you can do everything on halo pc and now even more with your live account.. for free.. your complanin is unjustified and pathetic"

Also how exactly is not being able to host a weak drawback? Are you kidding me? This a basic feature for computer FPS. Not being able to host..pathetic. Nor can you even JOIN a peer-hosted game without silver. Free multiplayer? Pff. Maybe on a console its acceptable, but on a computer, I'd like to be atleast able to join a friends game like in Halo PC -.-.

just so you all know, their are two different types of live accounts, the silver membership and gold membership. The silver membership is free and the gold membership you have to pay for. THe silver account is for the most part the same as to what most pc gamers are used to. if you want more information about windows live accounts just go to www.gamesforwindows.com click the live icon enjoy.

Thank you so much, this clears up a lot of confusion I had on this from what others were saying!

Subject: Do you like the subscription fee involved with LIVE?

Thinking of something witty to write here since 2004...

I already had Xbox Live so it's not a big deal for me. However I understand that people who didn't already have a Live account or those who really couldn't care less about gamerscores and achievments would be pretty pissed off. So I voted no.

Do i like paying for online play against Xbox360 gamers? No, but does it bother me that i can only join PC games with my Silver account? Nope.
I have never created an online game in my life and i couldn't care less about playing cross-platform.
I'll try out the Gold membership in a few months with the code i got with H2V.
Other than that, i think Live is a good and user-friendly integrated online service so it will be easier to use for people who just want to play online once in a while.
