Well first off. I am now liking the game. WOW SHOCKER. but right now I'm only playing Campaign.

Ok. I originally used Tray and Play. it took about 30 minutes total to install. Was choppy like crazy at 1280x720 with medium settings. Ram was at about 98%, Processor at 100%.

Now. I was so mad, I spent 180 dollars on Vista, 50 for H2V. Mainly because I was dying to play it. I told myself, Why Crest. Why..? Well, while surfing the net, I decided to uninstall, and reinstall with the "Install now, and don't launch" option. Took approximately 20 minutes. I launched it, laggy as expected. When in the menu I just left it minimized. I noticed my ram was about 70% which I wasn't curious of. So I decided to try and play MP, but Live was down. So I went into Single player.
It took a amazingly long time to load, so I was sad. But when It got into the game it was getting about 1-2fps. I realized my HDD was having a seizure trying to load all the data. So I left it in the pause menu and got a drink and went on a different computer to check something. I come back about 3-4 minutes later. No HD activity. Pause menu is still up. Music playing. Guess what my Ram % was at... 45%...

I hit start, and played. I got roughly 60-70fps average. Playing Cairo Station. With alittle tidbit of loading here and there.

I realized. I had plugged in my 512 Thumbdrive and enabled ReadyBoost. So as I'm about to say. Plug in all the thumb drives you got into your PC and load it up. Loading times are extremely long. But my FPS increased 500% from 10fps to over 60fps.

Currently running 1280x720, Fullscreen, Brightness 4, Gamma 2, Detail: High, AntiAliasing 4 samples.

Specs
AMD Athlon 3000+ 1.8ghz
Evga 7800 GT @ 460mhz and 1100mhz
2x512mb Pc3200 Dualchannel
120gb sata segate 7200rpm hd
cheap SLI mobo S939.

Again load times suck but almost no lag whatsoever in the game. I'm floored.

Try this out guys. Now I'm sure MP would most likely be laggier, but for those that would just want to play Single player right now with all this going on. Give it a whirl.

Your processor is a little slow. Mininum says 2.0GHz. You have 1.8GHz.

you may know me as X[IGN]

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

2.0 Ghz is a generic term, a 2.0 ghz p4 is much slower than a 1.8 ghz athlon and even slower than a 1.8 ghz core 2 duo.

Hmmm, people have better specs than that here, and they say they play at lower settings than that. 0_o

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

That Athlon is single core, no?

What it is.

Hmm...I have a slightly better GPU, more RAM(2gb), and a way better CPU(4000+). Something must be up cuz i only get around 30fps when I run the game at 1680x1050 on High, 4xAA. I also use a 1GB flash drive and it uses 930MB of it for ReadyBoost. The only thing different that we have are the resolutions...But even then, i still have 1 more GB of RAM, a better CPU, and a little bit better GPU....What nvidia drivers are you running? Also would running the 64-bit version of Vista have any effect on performance(even though the game runs as a 32-bit program)?

64bit is just for compatibility.

I just played till the flood. Great FPS. still maxed at 1280x720. around 40-50fps average though.

Yes it's a single core

Thumb drives use Flash memory. They are the same thing, just called differently. I may pick up a 1-2gb one soon.

It only gets laggy when my CPU hit 100% and I'm melee'ing like 50 people.
