Ok so now worthogs are destructable. So now what, no more tying to get a hog ontop of a base, trying to flip it over a wall, or trying to get it onto the top of a map. Im hoping for a worthog mode or option for multiplayer. Les you activate it and worthogs can't be blown up.

SB-117

Warthogs can't be destroyed with a single grenade or rocket (although it looks like the tracking rocket destroys the warthog in the 2004 e3 trailer, i think it just hits abunch of grenades or fusion cores) so youll be able to do this to a certain extent i think.

i like the idea of destructible vehicles... OK, just imagine a game of CTF Sidewinder: you drive a ghost into the enemy base, running someone over... you hop off, grap a flag and toss a couple of grenades at the ghost, it blows up, and you walk out... BUT, as soon as the enemy respawns, THERE GOES THE SECONDARY EXPLOSION!!! killing him again... so many possibilities....

Yes i think the idea ia great too, but there are those times you just want to cram all of the vehicals into a blood gultch base.

I dont understand this really. Will the damage be put only to the warthog unless the bullets hit you, just like in the gost? or will damage be put to you?

i've crammed ALL vehicles into a BG base only using 1 (ONE) rocket.

I hope that destructible vehicles and rocket tracking (correct term?) can be toggled on/off in multiplayer. I do enjoy rocket-hogging...if you know what I mean.

applejacks - I can picture that happening, all the vehicles lined up over some grenades like in the Warthog Jump movie hosted on rampancy.net!

Trying to flip the warthog 7+ times... that'll be hard if the thing falls apart on you. If you could turn the destructible option on/off, it would be a way for stunt guys to have their cake and eat it too.

First off, sorry I can't supply a direct link, but I was reading an article written by someone who had played the multiplayer demo at E3 or was an alpha-tester (can't remember, I've read too many articles) and he complained about getting mowed down every time he spawned because he was trying to blow up the vehicle. He then was told that the servers he was entering had "indestructible vehicles" enabled, thus being why he couldn't stop them. If someone can disprove me, then by all means, please do. I just thought I'd throw in my two cents.

I actually believe him because i have seen it done before in a CTF game it was awesome squeezing in between vehicles in their base just trying to get to the flag.

jesus-h-christ I hope that implies what I thik it implies. It could just mean that in the coding they hadn't yet enabled destructable vehicles, but if it meant an actual multiplayer option, that would be a true blessing from above. Because indeed, I want my cake, and I want to consume it to.

Sure you cant remember where you heard this from exactly?

I really hope you CAN'T turn off destructable vehicles... If you could, then what server would use destructable vehicles? I mean, it makes sense for stunts, but you wouldn't want someone on a REAL CTF game driving away... that's why they put that "rocket lock-on" thing in there, cause it's hard to hit someone with a slow rocket sometimes when they're driving away. Halo 2's multiplayer will be so incredibly different from Halo that it will be like an entirely different game. I wouldn't mind however, a "Stunt" gametype.... like no damage to players, infinite ammo, and indestructable vehicles. However, if there was an option to use themn or not on regular gametypes people would abuse it too much. Plus, there will NOT be an option to turn that lock-on thing off.. it's put in there to BALANCE the game... things were so unbalanced in the first Halo.. the pistol is getting toned down, the rocket gets the "lock-on" vehicles can be destroyed.... Bungie wants us to learn new strategies not just keep exploting all the unbalances in the first Halo like the flag carrier not being able to drive... we all know how easy it is to get away with a ghost on CTF. Not anymore, you gotta catch a ride on a Warthog, and they might not even be able to get in the LAAG seat... CTF is going to be 10X harder and about 5X more intense/fun...

Sorry for the UBER-LONG post... I just kinda started ranting...
