Ok, I have to admit the Tray & Play works quite well and loading times are quite smooth. But there always seems to be a little wee tiny bit of lag in-game, just enough to annoy the hell out of me. To get acceptable performance I need to go down to 1024 x 768 (I can still keep the detail level high tho). And even then, it takes a few minutes for the game to smooth out to be totally enjoyable. And in the end, it looks almost -blam!-tier than Halo PC?!? Seriously, this game looks quite dull compared to its predecessor. Maybe I would have a different opinion if I had a fully-loaded 8800 GTX, but come on, this is an Xbox game. The original Xbox had a 733 mhz processor. Is it that hard not to program bloated these days?

I think Halo 1 had more colours, more shiny things too.

Halo 2, maybe a little more realistic, but less colours and shiny things (I think).

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

It looks beautiful on my system.(6800GS/XT)

my specs

3.6GHz intel Xeon (2x Cores)
2GB Ram
2x 6800Ultras (SLI)

and the game runs like -blam!-. I hope its just Nvidia's -blam!- drivers.

It's not hard to program not bloated but this isn't the problem here.

First off, you never gave us your system specifications. On my system, I run Halo 2 at 1680 X 1050 with max everything and the framerate never drops. How do I know you're not on a 600MHz processor? Give us your specs!

Secondly, you can't compare the processor and hardware of the original XBox to a PC. It was built only for games where as your PC is doing more than just gaming so there is already a natural overhead. Also, you're running at a higher resolution than the original XBox was made for.

Answer me this: Does an Xbox have an Operating System? No. Does it have other programs running in the background? No. A computer does. Xbox has essentially ALL of the Random Access Memory equipped available for use. Computers do not.

Well, the XBox does have an OS and I believe it's based off of Windows 2000 but it's very stripped down. You kind of have to have some sort of operating system unless you want each and every game to have a built in OS like the old days with PC gaming when you had to boot from the game itself.

First off, yes xbox does run on an os like what BinaryIdiot said. Second off, xbox does have multiple apps running in the background. And it doesn't have all of it's ram at it's own leisure. It basicly is a nailed down and limited computer.

Ha! You high end PC gamers always give me a laugh. You complain when you have to turn it down to 1024 x 768? Try playing a modern game like this on a middle-low end GPU like mine. You'd probably have conniptions over having to turn off anti-aliasing and such. That's the highest I ever have a game resolution set to. I usually have it set to 800x600 unless it's an older game.

You think it's soooooooo bad to see a jaggy line here and there.........sad.
