Ok. So we know the game has now been recalled from retailers and will ship from manufacturers on May31st:

So I'm wondering: is there anything seriously wrong with the copies that were bought before the recall? Are we going to be shooting ourselves in a few days because we'll realize there is a big flaw in our copies which will be fixed in the second batch?

Well there are glitches in the game, also Tray & Play doesn't run so smoothly, it has a few bugs. Plus there are some parts that contain major lag or missing files. Microsoft is fixing that now. Also the button macro glitch thing. But I'm sure everything will be fine with Halo 2 Vista on May 31st. =)

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Keep your snakes in your carryon luggage. It will come out eventually, and won't have to be recalled. Man, it would have been nice if other games that were really bad took a lesson from this, just say there is something wrong with the game and recall it and "work" on fixing the "problem" and never let it comeout. And keep the cash from the people that preordered it......

it's easy enough to just make a patch that replaces a bunch of files. it would be bigthough. Somewhere around 1gb probaby.

There were glitches that needed fixing, plus they had to fix the already broken and un-fixable tray and play. Plus some games were missing campaign levels.

That makes no sense. No decent software company is going to have a 1GB patch just for a game that only fixes bugs. I could see 1GB if it includes updated textures, images and possibly new content but for bugs? Nay

Yes, of course they can easily patch this and it will probably come via a Windows Live update.

Unfortuantely they won't be able to patch tray and play but I don't care about that anyway

"Went to my local Wal Mart to purchase the last copy they had. When I went to the till to pay for the game it came up "do not sell". I then spoke to the manager and he had got a notice that the game rating was inccorect on the game box and all game boxes had to be pulled."

if thats the reason why its getting recalled then thats a lol right there :D

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I only had my first game caused problem today(a crash), and that was after getting the game Sunday and playing it most of my free time since then.

http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task =view&id=5757&Itemid=2

In an e-mail statement sent to Next-Gen, Microsoft said, “It has come to our attention that an unfortunate, obscure content error which includes partial nudity was included in our initial production of “Halo 2” for Windows Vista. As such, we have updated the initial game packaging at retailers with a label, so customers are aware before purchasing the game. Additionally, we’ve developed an online update which can be downloaded from www.halo2.com to remove the content.

What it is.

Partial nudity? what? showing Cortana? Psh...It must be fixes to the installation. Personally i have found the game to run and play fine(minus occasion hiccups which can get annoying). Hopefully all is well one the 31st or something.

  • 05.24.2007 9:18 PM PDT

has anyone seen what this "accidental partial nudity" was in the game? Did they make Cortana "too detailed" or something?

Honestly, that whole "partial nudity" thing sounds like a huge steaming pile. Don't trust everything you hear on the internet. If this turns out to be true (screenshots) I will gladly eat my own steaming pile.

Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity

Take it with a grain of salt, but according to this post:

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=11072656

It is because of "partial nudity". Kotaku mentions it too. OK, if you consult H2vista.net, they do have an entry in their forum

http://www.h2vista.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2749

WIth a purpoted image of the nudity event in question... It appears that when you get an error with the map editor, there will be a prompt for a .ass error and blam, the picture of a guy mooning you. Image is contained in the link to h2vista.net.

I don't know guys, the game contains so many imperfections that I can see why they would keep delaying/recalling it, even without the mooning image...

Doubt it, they're just going to remove the ass.
