Man this has turned into a hippy thread. I say rule through power, power through control, control through fear, fear through destruction.

This is by no means a hippie thread. You seem to be taking the Machiavellian way of life. Which while it is brilliant, it does nothing to help the human race. Tell me, what will you rule when Earth deteriorates? Hmm? Where will power get you then? Look at the big picture, don't confine yourself to the everyday. Broaden your mind a bit.

And I am by NO means a hippie. I am basing my ideas on FACTS. Not some thoughts that someone came up with while stoned out in the woods somewhere. This is not just some wacked out idea, this is a real concern that even you should consider.

thank you for your replies and coments. And for the person who said thank god this type of feeling is going away: That's what I'm talking about when Isay denial. People need to help the world. Let's say you are the human race, and the world is your best friend. You shot him accidentally, and you have the power to save him at no cost, what do you do? Leave him for dead? or save his life? Man are choosing choice #1 unfortunately, and it has to stop, the beauty of this incredible world will soon fade, and the human race will be blinded with thoughts of technology and the future.

You are right. Not only does our own world hold many wonders, but so does the rest of the Universe. There are things out there that we can only begin to grasp, such as time travel (which IS possible by the way). Yet we will never have the time to fully understand the mysteries of our existence among other things. Our planet is the only thing we have right now, and it is slowly fading away. It's as though the Earth were a clock that needed to be wound in order to run. The clock is running out, the key is right there in front of us and yet we don't reach out and turn it. It saddens me to think we may never leave our solar system. We sent people to the Moon, why not the Mars? What is being done to expand our view of the Universe? There is so much out there and we still have not really made an effort to discover it. Sure we've mapped the stars, sent a few probes out such as the two Voyager probes, but nothing more. I'm not sure about everyone else here but I would at least like to see humans leave our solar system before I die.

EDIT: It is very likely that the reason we haven't paid much attention to our world and everything else out there is because we are scared. Humans are afraid to admit that there is something mroe out there that is so massive and complex we can't understand it. We are afraid of the unknown, like death. So we shut it out and concentrate on other things, small things in our daily lives.

that's a great reason to save the planet. btw, nice simile about the clock and the key.

Thanks, can you believe that I suck at writing poetry?

nah, a hippie thread is optimistic, and comepletely one with nature and peace. This is different. This is pesimistic, and only living with nature, not one with it.

Fine. Man this has turned into a naturalist thread. I say rule through power, power through control, control through fear, fear through destruction.

philosiphy and poetry are different. Philosiphy is ideas about the world and stuff mixxed with your expession, poetry is your expression,or philosiphy, told in riddles. I am good with peotryand philosiphy, you are only good at philosiphy. Oh well, you're still better than me at something though. (not halo though ;))

No, naturalists run around with no clothes on. I don't know about you but I certainly don't fit that criteria.

Like I said, we will never understand Twitch. Although his antics usually amuse us.

I like stripping in front of six year olds.
does that make me a hippie or a naturalist

Umm, I was thinking more along the lines of perverted, but you know whatever. You decide what you want to call it.
