I could be wrong about this, but looking at the heat map, people at the beach side seem to get a hard time compared to the base near the waterfall. more action seems to take place closer to beach side i could be wrong though

What I want answered is how many multiplayer maps are going to be in the final version and if there is then in the near future are there going to be new multiplayer maps like the multiplayer map pack in halo 2

As far as the heat map goes, the base on the beach is the defenders base, so in all single bomb games the action will be heaviest at that base. In single flag games that is the defenders base. In territories there is also a territory on the base. There will be more action at that base because of the nature of the objective games, not because of any disadvantage to having that base.

personally i like the new banshee, you actually have to think about what your doing, instead of mindlessly shooting. You have to plan ahead, and it also gives you more incentive (is that spelled right?) to splatter people since in most cases you end up at ground level due to the fact that it doesnt shoot straight down. Also beta rocks, go bungie!

The Noble and Heroic DriedMoss, member of Reaching Perfection and the ever-growing kick-ass Halo community.

This update started out great with the excellent example of Valhalla data that was gathered to see how Bungie is learning that its map making needs improving. The question about Jar Jar being given an answer, and what about the question on seeing Mister Chief on the Lift...answer something serious and we'll take you seriously. I guess the long days pushing to get Halo 3 out by the end of September (expect delays) is getting to the Bungie team. I love seeing the full gamut of Q&A run its course.

That being said...this is what I've heard...

4 player online campaign co-op.
Flood/Elite/Grunt/Marines/Spartan on Multiplayer

I am a halo fan and wondering halo 3 is not bad graphics game and all (as seen so far ) but wondering why Bungie didn't use the Unreal Engine 3 because Unreal Tournament III Epic Games --->>FPS game looks amazing on the quality , explosions, and effects it displays and for the final halo game i know everyone is looking alot at graphics effects(and gameplay)

so i'm just wondering "Why did Bungie not use the Unreal Engine 3?"

Look at Gears of War. It uses the Unreal 3 Engine, the graphics are amazing, but what about the actual game, graphics aside? There's like 10 guns, no vehicles, the multiplayer gets boring after about 10 minutes and makes me want to go play Halo 2. The Campaign takes about an hour and a half to complete. There's no interactivity, no customization - strip away the graphics from GoW and you have complete garbage.

Sure, Bungie could've used the Unreal 3 Engine and maybe the graphics would be amazing but the game would suck. Bungie's engine is hawt, Unreal 3 is nawt. Full stawp. =)

the banshee is a wonderful piece of technology and i am more than willing to give up some downward arc for the use of the fuel rod cannon, the beta overall is a great teaser for what's bound to be a great game and there are only a few things i would like to see added to the full game (or if were lucky tested in the coming weeks). 1- elevation color coding on the radar for maps with multiple lvls, it would be nice to know for sure if the enemy is above or below you instead of watching there movement and making an educated guess. 2-I know it's not much but i'd like to see grenades affected by the physics of the man cannon and all relating technology....i know they would explode b4 they hit the ground....but's it's all in the little things :)

I think they are but have seen many complain that they think the graphics aren't good as they were made out to be.

Also, why is the gameplay infirior to halo 1?!

One: its the Beta, nothing is set in stone so dont expect it to be exactly as the shipping for graphics/gameplay etc.

Two: Gameplay IMO is great. I love the giant battles I get on High Ground when the attacking team is rushing through the open gate and we're defending, it usually lasts a good 2-3 minutes and is a great adrenaline rush. I think the gameplay is much better then that of Halo 1.

Actually, the real reason why is because Bungie wanted to keep the same feel in Halo 3, and the Unreal Engine doesn't look Halo, so all you would have gotten is a game which plays like Halo, but doesn't feel Haloie.

The Unreal Engine had nothing to do with Gears gameplay, because it's a graphics engine, so really, you described GoW without the Unreal Engine, kinda defeats your "Unreal Engine sux0r" argument =D

Umm.. Unreal Tournament III is going to have more guns than halo .. if not as many and same # multiplayer people same type of game a FPS that is coming out soon this year. This game is same genre as Halo and the gameplay looks amazing it is a fast paced FPS like halo and the only customization in halo is colors and icons(that are the same) so i know it was a big possibility for them to . I think BUngie maybe was to proud to use the UNReal Engine 3 and wanted to try for their own resulting in less graphical texture so that is why . But the game is not done yet but I posted a question asking them why they didn't use the engine and does bungie ever answer the questions?

You know the question about not seeing the Halo ring on Valhalla? I have a solution. Those are regulary known Forerunner structures on either side of the map so they could be on the Sheild world.

Well actually I kinda hope that the levels and ranks don't pass onto the actual game (I'm also pretty sure the wont). however I do now that the carbon rifle is @$%&in AWESOME and its not to weak or strong. But then theres the radar. That thing is soo hard to use, I like halo or halo 2's version better. in halo 2 you can actually tell if the people or vehicles are moving and how fast. It sucks its like downgrading. But all in all I cant wait to see the finished game The campaign is going to be.... Mind Blowing
