I'm having fun and I'm actually doing OK. I'm in love with the Battle Rifle. That is my weapon of choice and i am somewhat accurate with it. Everyone else seems to like the carbine but I think it is too weak. There are obvoiusly X-box vets that are dominating right now but I hold my own usually having equal kills and deaths.
I also get the feeling that I have a chance of taking a pro down. In HaloPC if I faced off against staticx on boarding action snipers he would kill me 10 out of 10 times easy. In H2V multiplayer I get the "feeling" I might get him three of the times. Now I may meet him on-line next week and he may disabuse me of that "feeling" but for right now I like the fact that I "have a chance", where in HaloPC i did not.

If any one else has played I want to know if voice is working. I haven't been able to hear players or get voice messages. Maybe its something I'm doing wrong.

And last I discovered my first assmunch. When you are waiting for the game to start it starts to countdown. Anyone at this point can delay the countdown, presumably to even teams or whatever. This clown keeps delaying the game so he can spam "I am a Halo God!" and "Bow to me in the text chat." There got to be a way to prevent idiots like this from preventing the game from starting. If there isn't there needs to be one put in place fast. Does X-box have this feature?

What is the perfomance of the multiplayer compared to the single player?

It's pretty similar, performs a bit better because the maps are smaller and there's no AI.

Ok. I have the game downloaded as I wanted to see performance (I get like a constant 20-30 fps in single player with bad spikes quite often). I am probably going to buy it if it will at least stay 30 fps with fewer bad spikes.

I get hesitation and sometimes crashing in the cutscenes in SP but other then that it is OK. Multiplayer has been a pleasant surprising as far as lag goes. I did see where one player was warping pretty bad but that may have been that players network and not the game or netcode.

1) That's great...but that's because HPC takes MUCH more skill than H2. ;D

2) Voice is only for gold members, if I'm not mistaken.

3) When the hell is our 1v1? xD

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

1. Much of the "skill" is learning to lead. That's fixed in Halo 2.

2. Igg is a gold member.

Can't say. You can only play the first level of single player without any achievements.

I played with you for a bit today Igg :)

My only complaint is the power of the controller - Hired Gun made it too powerful in my opinion when the balanced it out with the Keyboard and Mouse. Its so easy to tell if a player is on the controller, you'll see alot of BXR and swipe-shots. Totally -blam!- D:

What exactly does a BXR look like, and how do you do it on a keyboard? I guess if its in the game then I will have to learn how to master it, at least so I can use it against the players that are using it. Live by the BXR then you will die by the BXR.
Also is there a key somewhere of what the codes are over your teammates head? Will the enemy ever be marked like this?

Much of the skill is map control where as h2v is a rush to the power weapons.

Um, I chat with people in game and I don't have gold. I was talking with both people who were playign H3 Beta over Xbox live, and people on my team in a CTF game on h2Vistanet server.

I don't think voice is exclusive.

  • 05.26.2007 1:13 AM PDT

Thinking of something witty to write here since 2004...

Yeah I played a game with you earlier. Just about to say hi when my game froze and crashed again. I don't care much for voice. The only time I've heard people use it is when they're breathing into their mic and annoying everyone in the game. There's also voice lag at times which sounds really wierd.

Personally despite the lag, and the crashes I'm doing alright online. Got most of my multiplayer related achievments in two days. Guess that's partly due to me being an Xbox veteran.

As for your delaying problem, not much can be done. If I'm host I just boost the morons although on ded. servers you can't really stop them.

About that "feeling".

Halo PC has bad netcoding, or whatever it is that causes you to have to lead your shots usually.

H2V probably has better netcoding.

I'm "bilingual" with the halo netcoding, I guess you could say.

in Halo PC, I can lead fairly well. Not the best, but fairly.

On halo xbox, where you just have to point and shoot, I can do that really good and I usually get 3rd, 2nd or 1st in halo 2 xbox games.

Anyway, no, I've never played halo 2 vista.

BxR is a cheap combo used by people, although I'm pretty sure you figured that out. Basically, you need a fully loaded weapon of a certian sort (forgot which ones) and you do this: Melee, hit E as soon as you hit them, and then click. The goal is to melee to weaken shield and then shoot much faster than you should be after meleeing.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=lYO73ssRMPw

There's a youtube vid of that and some other noob combos so that you can abuse the abusers. All you need to do is replace B with F, X with E, and R with left mouse click. Kill a couple for me.
