I don't understand how my PC can run Oblivion on 1280x1024, 4xAA and every detail and distance slder maxed and still have an acceptable FPS. Yet a 2 and a half year old port of Halo 2 gives me one of the worst FPS I have ever encountered.

I also don't understand how Oblivion, heavily modded, has much less bugs, glitches and crashes than a stock Halo 2 does. I have extremely long loading times, massive FPS spikes in SP and constant freezing and crashing in multiplayer: and all I get is a polite "We have encountered a problem. Sorry about that."

Well they shouldn't have released the game in the condition it's in. I don't know if the tester's were being slack or whatever but the flaws are so obvious that it would take someone who's never touched a video game not to notice them - and even then I'm doubtful.

Yet again Halo makes an unsuccesful PC port. Instead of getting other developers to produce the port, Bungie should do it themselves to make sure that it meets the standards they put for the console versions.

A definate No.

Games for Windows policy is to have the game go through lot's of testing. At least...that's what MS would like you to believe. This quite obviously was not tested at all.

well it only had a team of what 5 people? (i think it was 5.... not sure) to do the entire game, and in 6 months. what do you think is gonna happen? 0 testing, poor performance, poor port...

M$ gets the the 7 p award for this 1....
piss poor performance provides for piss poor product.

Don't forget the .ASS error Fence_Jumper (if it is true...). They would be obligated to change it, for if the ESRB gets a hold of it, there will be HELL TO PAY! Or not... they probably would just change to rating to include nudity for having a game component that contains a picture of an ass... literally and figuratively.

That's not the point. The problems the game has are so obvious that a team of 5 should have been able to identify it and they should have fixed it.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

Well, when they were first releasing videos of Halo 2 Vista, it seemed to be working just fine.

Ah, look at the lonely people...

NO.

With all the hype surrounding the port, I'd like to know how the heck it turned out so... craptastic.

NO. Absolutely not. I wasted 50.00 on this. I really hope they will make an update to fix this. I cannot beleive my PC can't run this old port without any lag. These graphics are unacceptable for the PC they want you to have to run it.
