Yes. XBL terms of Service says so, so did Bungie. You just have less of a chance of being banned since it can't be detected, only people can report you.
Keep in mind, I find button combos mostly dishonorable and cheap, it takes no skill, I performed a BXR that I never have before...did it first try. that means no practice=no skill. For RRX, it might take skill, but any well trained RX'r it becomes impossible to stop, no counter in sight. Kinda like modding, you need skill to do it, but it isn't fair in any way.
what do you mean there is no counter for it. its called crouching. if your gona bxr and kill someone, they're aiming for your head.....so if ur crouching theres no way in hell that your gona get hit. if u do, they're cheating.
i wana see this XBL terms of service and Bungie saying that button combos such as these are cheating. how can they when it is the game itself and noone has modified the game for that to happen? All this button combos, superjumps, they arent cheating, it was a screwup with not Bungie, but the company who created the maps. If it was such a big deal and was cheating, im sure that there would have been some kinda update allowing for this not too happen. It seems like everyone who uses these glitches has the same arguments for why they are alright to use.
First I want to ask, how is a button combo with the BR a map problem? The button combos were Bungie's mistake, as it wasn't intended for the 'X' button to cancel the current animation. As for them patching it, the problem was too deep in the source to patch. Patching it would cause many more problems.
How can you say Bungie intended for the player to be able to cancel a melee, jerk the weapon back into place, then shoot resulting in an insta-kill? If you look at the character as he does it, you will see that it looks really glitchy. If it was intended, they would have added proper animations to make it look like a fluent motion.
Finally, Bungie said it is cheating in matchmaking, so it is. Deal with it.
