Subject: It will run on an Ati Radeon 9600!!!!

Ok I installed it and tryed it on low settings, ran but not well.

Used atitool to raise the clock speed and mem speed and runs like a chram at medium and i forget what the other thing is called(i just woke up) at 4 with a resoulution of 1024x768. Certainly better than xbox verson.

Get Ati tool here: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/436/ATITool_0.26.html

My card is running at a Core of 396 and memory feqency at 217 (if you run a 9600 thats what you should use.

It works on all ati and nvidia cards exepct Radeon X1950 Pro

- Note, that's split up so that it's allowed :)

But I probably shouldn't use ATI Tool to raise my clock speed and mem speed on my laptop, should I? Isn't that overclocking the card?

Thanks,
- Flappy

FlapJack I would not use atitool on a laptop mobility gpu.
They are not made for overclocking.
The result could be less than what you hope for. /billows of smoke.

It will work just fine..

Flapjack, my advice is: Try it, but take baby steps when over clocking. I canot Stress that enough. It is totaly possbile to cook somthing over clocking but I have been slow and careful and its never happened to me.

Has anyone else tryed Atitool yet?

I respectfully disagree. I work with mobility chipsets on a daily basis and they are very sensitive and prone to overheat even in stock setup with 3d games.
I would not overclock anything in a laptop, if I owned it.

A full pc on the otherhand is a different animal =)

Oh, If you work with them daily then I respect that.

But you know how it is. A noob could just walk up in here and start screaming DONT DO IT NO NO DONT! I BURNED MY LAPTOP UP.

Yea b/c your a noob ad you over clocked it past its limet.

only over clock if you got good enough cooling. i would never OC on a laptop, thats just comon sence...

  • 05.31.2007 9:51 AM PDT

Slaying noobs since 2007.

I OC'd on my laptop and it works better then fine, but I did have a water-cooling guru do it for my laptop, I figured that I wouldn't want to take a chance in screwing up on it, besides I got lucky the first time.

How about a Radeon X1300 Pro?

  • 06.01.2007 10:22 PM PDT

Steam: RageRunner32 | StarCraft II: RageRunner | Lets play Pc sometime :)

<3

Overclock to a certain extent, but without proper cooling you can't go too high and/or are decreasing the life of your card.

Oh and to whomever asked about laptop Oc'ing, never do it. The componants in a laptop are so close and already generate enough heat. Hell most laptops are not too far from their heat limit at default settings, so it's just stupid to try and add more. Laptops were never designed for the strain that can be put on desktops. It's just common sense never to OC a laptop without getting some serious cooling.

So default is 600/400. (CLOCK/MEM) Would 700 and 500 be OK since my computer has cooling enough to keep it cool at all times?

aka lino4

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

The 7600 should be able to run it without overclocking.

  • 06.02.2007 8:58 AM PDT

The bare minium I got It to run on was a 9000. At Low at 1024x768 and it was still fun so yes.
