1. Windows Vista is horribly made
Ha.
Ha.
I've been using Vista since it came out, and I couldn't be happier. Don't blame Vista for running poor if you saw it run on a crap computer.
EDIT: I wouldn't classify it as a flop until it officially releases and we see some sales figures. I plan on getting a copy, but from what i've heard, it has an uphill battle to fight.
I saw it run on a 2ghz computer with 1g of ram and a 128mb video card :|.
Windows XP was pretty bad, but then they just released a "new" operating system that was full of more errors and problems than even Windows XP had >_>.
Xp had very few errors. The one thing vista did wrong was try to be a mac. Now you need 2 gig of ram to effectively game over Vista. Luckly DDR2 Ram is cheap (sadly alot of us are still on DDR1 and have to pay more for ram) If you were to build a Pentium 4 3ghz or higher (129.99) and 4 gig of DDR2 (240.99 ruffly[lots of sales] ) get a motherboard to support that and fans (129.99) a dvd rom drive (29.99) 512 video gpu (204.99), Monitor (69.99) and a harddrive 200gig (99.99) you would spend ($905.93). Thats an insane gameing rig for under $1000 (didnt even factor in sales on all parts just on RAM) Spend $150 on Vista Home Premium or $99 on Home Basic and you are off to the races. Hell you could use old parts from your current pc which would slash cost, but to run vista on a 2 ghz machine with a 128mb video and 1gig of ram is to meat the bare minimum recommended stat for the OS expecting it to do much more than run is a bit stupid. Sure we arent made of money, some are / some arent, but to expect to get the latest and greatest on yesterdays specs is pretty lame. Upgrade or stay with xp. Switch to Linux or Mac and see how your gaming goes. A cpu is a product that constantly needs upgrading to be on par with todays standards. If you dont like that stop gaming and go to word processing. typewriters still do that.

you pretty much proved my point that you don't know what you're talking about.
1. Windows XP has been called one of the most stable operating systems around by many reviewers and others.
2. Windows Vista fixed many (if not most) of the glitches and errors in XP. Not to mention it's more secure. And as I've said before, I have yet to see a glitch or ''blue screen of death" or anything of that sort.
It's amusing how it's gotten so fashionable for people to bash vista simply because they don't want to drop $99 on it, or get it for free (legally and otherwise), to the point that people with little or no experience just jump on the anti-vista bandwagon.
EDIT: But in all honesty, I don't care if you don't like Vista, and I'm not going to enter into a flame war about it. It's your perrogative to not upgrade, but if you're going to bash it, try coming up with an argument that has some facts behind it, or at least some form of coherance. You're just making the same claims of "ooh, it's a lousy OP!!!!1!" without any fact or even examples of your claim.
No hes basically saying something that he cant run on his POS system isnt a good OS. He is failing to see what Vista is trying to do / be. Do I have Vista yes, do i prefer XP; Not sure yet. At first glance it runs faster but vista is nicer. Ill probably up grade my pc more to max out vista and have it work better before i claim a winner (my system is a 3.3ghz celeron with 1.5 gig ram and a 512 video card. It spanked Xps requirements, it just makes vistas.)
