K, so it's a new computer.

Got it like, 2 months ago, I think. However, something seems to be wrong with the space...

The whole C drive is probably only about 40gigabites or so. Yet, it says that my computer has like, 11 GB left even though the computer`s max GB capacity thing is like, 232 GB.

I don`t understand where all of this GB is coming from...

Also, will my computer run H2V smoothly or decently(question mark, sorry Im having a hard time making symboles because for some reason when Im in firefox or some other games, my slash gets replaced with é and other stuff is also replaced with other stuff.)

Some system info:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Duel Core Processor 3800+, 2009 Mhz, 2 core(s),

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium

6.0.6000 Build 6000

Available Physical Memory: 1.02 GB
Total Virtual Memory: 4.09 GB

Thanks =)

Got me a good 8(+)GBs

As for graphics card, I think it's a 6100 geForce NVIDIA, it's integrated, I believe.

It runs halo PC pretty smoothly and looks pretty nice, it shouldn't be tooooo bad with H2V, I'm assuming.

If it's intergrated, I would highly susgest just going out and buying a real graphics card.
and yes, FRAPs eats gigabytes for lunch.... and around 800MBs for brunch.

Run the disc cleanup operation from control panel, then download the program CCleaner and run it. It'll take a bunch of stuff you don't need off your harddrive that you probably didn't even know existed. New PCs have a lot of invisible stuff on the harddrive that was put on when they installed the OS and such, but you don't need or want when you actually use it.

The first time I ran CCleaner, it removed 5 gigs of stuff i didn't need.

You've got to be stupid or impatient to buy $800 video cards.

You don't need an $800 video card, but your 6100 isn't going to cut it.

It was an exageration.

What I mean to say, though, is that I don't have $100-200 to spare for a video card for a game that SHOULD (even though it might not) play fine on an integrated card.

If people with windows 98 and a horrible integrated card can play halo PC without much lag (On normal maps, like Bloodgulch), why should an integrated card that makes halo pc look all shiny and nice and high quality fail at loading a somewhat more advanced version of it with different levels, etc.

OK ,

Link Gray my good man lets chat.

"As for graphics card, I think it's a 6100 geForce NVIDIA, it's integrated, I believe."

I surely feel for you. My brother inlaw bought a new PC recently and this integrated graphics processor (IGP from here on out) is an interesting item. He forgot to consult me before the purchase btw, which he regrets fully.

That darned IGP is the biggest scam to hit new pc sales in a while. It is truly the equivalent of a watered down vid card from 3 years ago.
I has some of the new features, but it uses system memory for the video processing. This is HUGELY bad.

A stand alone desktop PC needs a "dedicated" video card with its own processor and memory. His machine which is a core 2 duo running at 2.3 ghz., with 4 gb of ram... and dual sata raid 1 drives, can BARELY play halflife 1 a respectable rate. And by respectable I mean 40 + fps.

We tried to run Halflife 2 : Counterstrike on minimum settings and it was just bad bad bad.

That IGP was designed for heavy 2d desktop usage, and minimal 3d usage, certainly not for gaming.

If you want a card that will do more, I suggest you goto www.futuremark.com and read the forums in the community section and perhaps post what your price range is. They can very much so help. You need not spend more than $120 USD for a passable card to play H2V.

I just wanted to post this for you since alot of what you will get here is "noob" and "it playz teh fine on my 8800zor nub" crap posts.

Simply put, you have a good pc, its just not rigged for gaming, but could be very quickly with right vid card.

Hope that helps.
