I tried to join his party, and he tried to join mine, but it always says netowork problems. We can both join somone elses party and play together, but that is the only way. We both tried resetting our routers, but nothing work, Please try to help me fix this problem.

I'd Rather Be A Smartass Than A Dumbass

He said that you want it open sir.

Meaning if it is not so then change it to open.

Or are you unable to?

I do not own a 360 myself but I have had the same problem as you sir I find it almost impossible to join the party of my friend who lives up the road from me.

Also I found that when we did manage to join each others partys we seemed to affect each others connections and suffered quite bad lag.

I had the same problem with my connection....here is what you do

It automatically goes away when you direct connect - (xbox to modem and not through a router)

If you can't do that:
On xbox.com do a search, there are 3 ports that you should enable to allow you to play people over xbox live (change this on your computer-router settings)

When going through a router, you get this special number for your connection, you can type that number on the xbox network settings instead of having it on automatic (that number should be given to you by your Internet Service Provider)

: )
