You see I already own Halo for X-box, so wouldn't make much sense for me to buy it for PC would it? Sure, it's got new vehicles, weapons and online capabilities, but essentialy it's the same storyline, right? Just wondering if you guys can convince me otherwise.

Heyyo,

For what you're looking for which is SP storyline, no, no differences. The new vehicles are great (insept the fuel rod on that banshee.... sheesh what a dumb thing...) the new weapons are ok (fuel rod is the WORST gun in Halo, too cheap, the flamethrower's ok...), but the online capabilities are great man. I spend many an hrs with some buds playing HaloPC online... I'm trying to convert them to HaloCE for the new maps cause I saw some that are pretty incredible, and I wanna play them dammit. :p

ThE_MarD...got a link to download HaloCE ? i`m sick of all these sites where i ...bla bla bla.

Ok master_dane,what can i tell you about HaloPC,it os totaly worth it.
Ok the tech part:
-better graphics
-sound
-and WAY better Controls
-more Maps/Weapons/Vehicles/And stuff like that

And anyways if you spent many hours playing PC shooters as i have(sarted way back with quake 1) you`l like it more then the xbox version

You`l know why we don`t wana buh an xbox and why we wait and wait for Halo 2 PC

MST3000, go to http://www.haloimpulse.com I promise you no viruses, no fuss, and a very good resource for maps and files. I seem to recall they have a file which they update now and then for you to download All the CE maps in one go, if you can't be bothered to do it one at a time. Of course, it's well over 1GB, so you'll need broadband :P that's where I got all my Halo CE from anyway. Good luck.

Thanks Skippy but this -blam!- will take me a while...512Kbps >:( ah well it is the best Cable internet service in the country and nobody ever acused RDSlink(www.RDSlink.ro) of being fast and reliable(when compare to other internet from other places)

Heyyo,

EVEN better, to play online you don't have to pay a montly fee unlike another system *coughs*xbox :p

Sure, you need to pay for your net connection onna PC, but for xbox live, it's your internet connection PLUS xbox live fees... uber ghey.

i agree and taking into consideration that consoles are crap(controls are slow and unprecise on shooters)you`d be better off with the PC

If you get Halo PC,you had better have a powerful computer.That game will run slow on a computer with...

* 2.4 Ghz processor
* 256 MB RAM
* 640x480 resolution

Gearbox did a really sloppy job of programming Halo for PC.

No, it won't. That game will run perfectly with:
800MHz (0.8GHz) processor
256MB SD ram
1024x768 resolution

...If You're Not Dumb Enough To Play It Without A Graphics Card. That spec stated above had a Radeon 9200 256MB, which is worth about $40. TurboCircuits is obviously using onboard or some tradgically out of date card. Gearbox did a fine job of converting Halo. They just get flamed by retards who don't know that you need a graphics card to make games run well. "oh look Halo won't run well on my pocket calculator, let's flame Gearbox for doing a bad conversion".

well i got a P4 @ 1.7GHz,512MB DDR RAM,and an ATI 9200SE 128 MB DDR RAM...and it slows down a lot with graphics set to max...
but at medium/max it`s ok...
1024/768, 85Hz,vsink,shadows-off,specular-off,decals-on,particles-high, textures-medium..on this config it works ok for me but with some slowness sometimes
