Good luck zig0 but i've had cd key problems and their seems nothing u can do about it.
It's so stupid that cd key, a lame programming excuse to make it easier for those guy's (probably at microsoft or gearbox)
The problem probably lies at microsoft and their monopoly:
they only want 1 standard, their standard even though there exists better. They want total control.
All there is left to do now is beg, but you will probably have to support their evil imperium once more and buy the game a f**king second time!
~DRAMA!~
(sorry for this typical philosophy but i'm in the mood):
It's so sad that a cool company like bungie fell to the hands of microsoft but perfectly understandable. I probably would have done the same as Alex.
Maybe Unix and stuff is the only way out, but for now microsoft has got total world domination.
Live with it or fight it: the choice is yours, but it's XOR !

Heyyo,

Heh, well, they wanted to guarantee the success of an already promising game, and then pretty much got bougth out by M$. Me? I'd probably sell out too... for the right price that is. ;)

It's a cutthroat business out there, and if you don't play buddy-buddy with the big names, you might just get screwed over.

Is it that much to ask that you keep your cases in a safe place? How can you 'accidentally' throw a brightly coloured DVD-sized case away, unless you keep all your expensive games, CD's and DVD's in the same draw as your garbage. Funny how your Halo disc didn't get thrown away aswell huh. It's not a developer's responsibility to make up for your irresponsibility.
