I don't get why bungie or xbox live doesnt own up to the fact that host DOES have an advantage. We have all blasted some punk in the face with a shotty and it had no effect only to be killed with a single SMG. I understand it is part of the game and we must all accept it, but what I dont understand is that nothing is done about it.

If indeed "host" or network traffic speed effects game play, why not have it as a stat? If I see that JimKiller22 is a 40 in all game types, and I can see that he consistently has host or has high bandwidth then I know why he is a 40. I'm just tired of playing games where idiots talk crap about being so good when in reality they had host.

All I ask is that a new stat be added called "percentage of games hosted" and all it would do is show a percentage next to the gamer tag that show how often they get host (i.e. jimkiller22 hosts: 60% of games played). It's a legitimate stat, and it cant be hard to track so why not?

I've never actually had problems with being killed unfairly (im killed a lot anyway so i probably haven't noticed XD) so i don't really care whether it's introduced or not.

I don't see any real benefits.... And what will a host stat do to prevent those people from talking crap even though they had host? Nothing. If anything, it will just be an excuse for people: "Oh, that guy had host, that is why I lost." Or people will use it forum battles: "Pfft, you would be a level 4 if you didn't get host 30% of the time!"
If you can't identify who is host during the game, then obviously it isn't having that big of an effect.

Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get... but you can bet it will be chocolate.

Go into games completely oblivious to the whole host thing. Before it bothered me a whole lot. I would check to see who has host and it would affect how i play. But now i try not to care about it. It helps. If i get it, thats fine...if i dont, i play exactly the same way as i would if i did have host. Alot of halo 2 is psychological. Going in thinking the team has a huge advantage will definately affect your mindset in a game. Same if you get angry when people talk -blam!-, crouch humb, etc. Go in confident with a clear mind. Just play smart

yeah thanks ... I'm not a moron, I dont go into a game "thinking" a team has an advantage, I KNOW some poeple have advantage because they are host. Search the forums and internet, there is host talk everywhere. All I am saying is why not track it? It would be an interesting stat.

Well then you must be blind. There are no "real" benefits to any of the stats. You think some guy is a 30 or 40 just because they are good? No, it's because they get host AND they are good. All I am saying is that a new stat like this would prove why some people who are just as good as anyone else are at a higher rank - because they get host more often than not.

There is no reason to show you who had host how many times.
That would lead to more trashtalkers, no need to have yet another thing to fuel the 10yr olds into running their mouths.

I don't like that idea.

Host isn't the only reason that they have such a high level. You can only blame the host problem so much but in reality, it's not all host. Just play the game. Ignore it. It's only a game.
