I have a wireless controller for my xbox 360 that i played halo 2 with. I looked on the microsoft site for drivers for the pc since i want to play halo 2 vista with it and my older games (halo 1). Installed them, but didnt seem to work. The drivers are for the wireless receiver peice of equipment not the actual wireless controller itself. I've tried both the wireless receiver drivers, and the standard controller drivers and neither worked.

The controller has a USB for charging it with the console, but it also goes into the USB on the pc. Detects and all, but yeah, i can't seem to get it to work in my games. The light on the controller just keeps flashing too.

Can anyone help ?

thnx

Did you set up the controls in the actual game? I've had this problem when i first got a controller.

nope, windows vista isnt' detecting it in games, but when i plug it into my pc, it says new device found - search for drivers and so on, then i installed them and everything. The light's on the controller keep flashing green, which doesnt look good.

When i go into games the game controller option is still greyed out.

In control panel in windows - the game controller settings doesnt detect the controller either.

Am i using the wrong drivers ?

Maybe you should get the Wireless Gaming Receiver first.

Is that the only solution?

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Yes, the play and charge kit wasn't meant to transmit the signals meant for gaming over it, just power to recharge the batteries in the controller. While you are and are not playing with it it's just power going to the batteries. Any time, all the time.

Hello! Star Wars FTW. Also, join the MAW group. Please?

No, you could always not use a controller, and stick with the keyboard and mouse. BTW, the 360 controller autoaim gives gamepad users a ridiculously unfair advantadge over keyboard users, so its bordering on cheating to use one. I've been playing H2V for 2 weeks an I've noticed this is I huge issue.

Sorry, but didn't it occur to you what the wireless gaming receiver was used for?
