"It's better to be dead and cool, than alive and uncool!"

If you are talking about a gaming computer, check out http://www.alienware.com/. They have some really good stuff.

Go to the Maw forums. See, alienware is so inflated, I could build a computer with the same specs for about $1000 less. I built mine for less than $1300 (in my sig). It matches an alienware that costs over $2000 at alienware.

Build your own. It's cheap. If you buy alienware, you are either a rich jackass with no care for money or have trouble shopping.

umm so you think you can build a better laptop then them?

  • 01.18.2005 11:26 AM PDT

Buddy, what is wrong with you. Did you check my signature? Those are my pc's specs. I built it for $1300. I went to alienware, configured a pc with the same specs, and found that it was priced for $2400. That's the biggest ripoff in the industry. DONT BUY ALIENWARE!!! Build your own for over $1000 less!

1 Million bucks and your girlfriend says that I CAN build a computer better than alienware can.

All you need to know is what everything is. Just now the difference between a hard drive and a stick of ram. Seriously that's it. All you need is your parts, an anti-static wristband or keep yourself grounded, a few screw drivers, and that's pretty much it. When you build a pc, the best part is the customization. Get yourself a case that looks super kickass with the acrylic window and get some LED fans. Very impressive, indeed. If you need a lot of info, visit The Maw forums and scrounge to the sticky that talks about building a computer (visit mine of the graphics card for help there, too). If you need any more help, ask me, the mard, skippy, iamwhie, any of us in the maw forums.

Building PCs is the greatest thing ever. Its when im installing and X800 pro that I love to dream about murdering the Dell Guy with a giant mace.

ibuypower.com

you can build your own PC on the net, and they will assemble it for you. good if you're unsure you could do it by yourself. all the people I've talked to that used it said it was a great deal. It costs a little more than building yourself but much less than something like a Dell XPS or Alienware .. and you don't have to take any time to assemble the PC.

Yeah, let's be serious.

Guys that think alienware is a good deal: how much do you know about computers? Seriously - I build them for a living and know the prices are over inflated, almost 200% inflation on the pc's they sell. It sounds like Griffin has a pretty good knowledge of pc's too. Trust us. Alienware is no better than a custom built computer. It's just parts you can buy on the internet or in a computer warehouse, really. Alienware charges wholesale plus assembly (not to mention sticking a fat price on for their -blam!- advertising too). My point is, a custom built pc has fewer costs than an Alienware, by AT LEAST 50% less. Read my post above and understand why alienware is the biggest ripoff.
