Get boring? Before the Beta released the hype on this website has been really high, but ever since after the beta release, the site has been kinda of slow. People didn't come that much. And to be truthful the Weekly Updates got a little boring ( no offense ). After the final game is released will the same effect on the Beta come into play again? Will the updates be more interesting? Post your comments guys.

It will be the same as it was after Halo and Halo 2. After Halo 3 is released, the site membership will increase. After a few months (I say six), it will slowly start to go down until no one is left except for the hardcore Bungie fans. *sighs*

Rainman89: To denounce the evils of truth and love!

Butane: James!

Butane: Surrender now or prepare to fight
sir_brilliant: Meowth, that's right!

Sounds about right. Right around Sept.25th membership and activity will go up, then for a few months after, then it will dip a little and slowly subside into a level probably a little higher than the one right now.

Yeah it'll probably be about the same fluctuation as when Halo 3 was announced.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

Umm... probably because all those peeps weren't blabbing here, but rather playing Halo. That's what I would do.

It is true, that B.net goes through slowdowns based on the time between and the product being released but that is to be expected. There is a separation between fans of Bungie and fans of a Bungie Product. But also, it is just a cool down period. During and for awhile after the release B.net will probably be flooded with chatter. After awhile it will most certainly die down, after the game has been out for awhile. And less and less is left to talk about (that hasn't been talked about). So, yes, on some scale it probably will go down, but it may not be noticeable. I'm not even quite sure myself, since I came in '04.

Seeing as I don't even have an Xbox, I'm assuming I fall into that category.

I think activity will explode after the H3 release, drop to 10% higher than it is now after 6-9 months, then steadily increase by about 2% a year.
Not accounting for fluctuations caused by map pack releases and the Maw's impending boycott of B.net. You guys should really talk to them once in a while.

If you want to be a part of one of the greatest and most active communities in the seventh column, come here. You will thank me later.

Yes, the site will go down. Site traffic always fluctuates during significant events pertaining to bungie, but that is always followed by a decrease in activity.

Look at the beta. The halo 3 beta forums were ridiculously active around three weeks ago, when the beta first came out. Now that the craze has died down a bit, so have the forums.

Honestly, is it so bad to have some people leave? I don't think this place will ever become "boring" at all. If anything, the forums will definitely improve once the band-wagon halo fans have left, and the hardcore bungie community members are the only ones that remain.

Look at the forums now, as an entirety. They may be active, but they aren't very friendly. Plenty of immature individuals make accounts on a whim, and then sign on to make a few brainless posts. Nowadays, in many cases, you will be flamed for posting a perfectly legitimate idea. This site is filled with (for the lack of a better word) clowns who can't take it when someone disagrees with their opinion, and will be very rude to their fellow bungie fans. Some will simply start arguments for the fun of it.

It's perfectly understandable for new members to be feeling themselves around a bit, but it can get annoying seeing a steady dose of threads in The Septagon asking questions such as "How do I link my gamertag?" or "How do I delete my account?" popping up every day. When they don't have their question answered, some will make a duplicate thread to get attention. In most cases, the answer can be found through a simple check at the bottom of the page.

Despite some of the fools around here, there are plenty of true bungie fans and contributors that hang around on this site. I know that many of the older members have nostalgic feelings about some of the older days on bungie.net, back when it was created in the late 90's. The site wasn't as flashy or crisp back then, but the community was great. Bungie wasn't as main-stream a group of developers yet. It had true fans, not band-wagoners. The seventh column was a great place to be, with all of the tight-knit chapters and a feeling of companionship between everyone on this site. I wasn't around during this time, but I've heard of it.

After halo 3 has been around for a couple years, this site might just return to its original state. The fair-weather halo fanatics will get bored after a while, and the community could be filtered down to those worthy to represent it. I wish bungie the best of luck with their future projects, because they deserve it, but the real fans will be the ones to stay if things are kept under the radar.

very well put. I'm pretty sure i was with the halo 2 surge, just a little late, but i've always been around and i noticed a HUGE boom when halo 3 was announced and a slightly smaller one when the beta came out. My prediction is about the same as yours, except with no other halo related games that are being developed by bungie, i think alittle more people will leave and the site will just die down after all the hype is over.

I will always be around on the bungie forums, for some reason the community here is like no other on the internet. despite the obvious lack of responsibility and maturity some members may have, the core idea of B.net and alot of its "Hardcore Members" bring th site along.

Bungie will never lose interest in me or most of the members still here. True, that before Halo 2, the community was alot more friendly and personal, but that was the past. I think alot of members should look to the present and the future of bungie rather than its past. Thats the only way we can continue towards world domination, =].

I don't see this site ever dying. Halo 3 won't be bungie's last project, and they will find ways to draw more fans.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

No, we will most likely have riots here on Bungie.net becuase there are bound to be people hating on the game.
