I was just wondering what everyone thinks of the fusion cores shown in this years E3 demonstration of the multiplayer level Zanzibar.

Personally, I don't really like the sound of them. I'm worried that they'll change the multiplayer gameplay too much and ruin the Halo style. I hope they at least have an option to turn them off.

i think they would be kind of fun to just blow up wit a sniper rifle when an enemy gets near one. it will change the way we play the game

That's true 117. Still, I can't help but get a little worried when they do something so different.

They're great. Their primary purpose I think is to be scattered around a base in order to make them hesitate a little bit. Rather like landmines. If you run into one with your vehicle, they explode rather nicely.

As long as they arent like barrels of gas in bond games or something and just put in random places they should be in bases and look they are being used and serve a purpose not just something for MC to blow up.

I don't think we know enough about them to take a firm stand, but I think they sound like they will be fun. Imagine how high you can blow a warthog with a pile of those.

That is a good point about how they actually serve a purpose. I just get so bored with games that sacrifice gameplay for the sake of a few extra explosions, and I wouldn't want Halo 2 to become something like that...

Hey, you can move them around and they explode. What more could you ask for? :)

I like the idea. Hopefully they won't just be in random places, but will at least look like they have a reason to be wherever they are. I doubt that Bungie is stupid enough to just put them in random places.
