F-f-f-f-fling yourself.

I've beaten legendary on the xbox plenty, so actually treking through the levels isn't a problem here.

I'm just wondering if there are any stipulations in beating the campaign in order to get the achievement.

For instance, do you have to do it all in one save file, from first level to last? Or can you complete the levels in any order, at any time?

Also, does it count if you have any skulls activated? Or does enabling something like thunderstorm invalidate that level towards getting the achievement?

Thanks

You probably could play them any order but on the safe side just go in order.

haha, hey yea. Wow that's funny, I remember seeing you online :P I wish this site would log those games.

Let there be CHAOS!

You can play them in any order, you just have to finish all of them.

When I first played through the campaign, my internet died and I played through Gravemind and Uprising without achievements and finished the game. then I went back and finished those two levels while logged in and it gave me the medal for finishing the campaign.

Well that's good to know. anyone know about skulls though?

I don't know for sure (as in I haven't tried it), but I really don't think having a skull will affect you gaining your achievement. Try it out on one of the levels and see if it still gives you the achievement when you beat it.

well that's the thing, I dohn't want to waste a ton of time if it's not going to give me the achievement :P

Nobody knows if skulls affect getting achievements like this?

  • 06.04.2007 4:19 PM PDT

Let there be CHAOS!

Try it out on Metropolis. Once you're on top of the map, you can practically walk across 3/4 of the level without even seeing an enemy lol.

If I have learned one thing from the forums, it is that logic and critical thinking should be required courses in the public schools.

I just finished the whole game, in order, on Legendary, and it didn't give me any of the completion achievements. I did not get any skulls. Anyone know what the problem might be?

I've just double-checked, and I definitely have the achievement for completing every individual level, and I've never played on any difficulty but legendary, yet still no completion achievements.

Is there an email for support for this kind of thing?

Has anyone tried just beating the last level on legendary to get the acheivement? I'm thinking that would work since the first couple of levels I played on heroic, then about the 2nd or 3rd level switched to normal and when I finally beat the game I got the Warrior acheivement.

I kinda doubt it. Back on the xbox Halo 2 I just beat the last level on Legendary for the hell of it and it still said my highest completed level was The Great Journey on Normal. Assuming it uses the same kind of system to determine highest completed difficulty it won't work. That said. I give up trying to beat it on legendary. I just got to the end of the first level (Stupid Hangars, I spent 4 hours on them) Only to lose connection to live for a split second at the very end causing me to have to restart the entire level. Angry is an understatement.

I tried just beating the last level on legendary to get the achievement, needless to say it didn't work. Look on the bright side though, once you do get it all you need to do to get the hired gun achievement is to kill yourself and you get credit for killing someone with the legend one, yourself.

I know how it feels. -_-
But yeah, I hated those damned hangars on the Xbox version... -blam!-ing elites... my only saving grace was the noob combo, which is somewhat ironic.

Indeed, there's practically no other way to kill an Ultra, and certainly not if you want to have any ammo left when you're done.

In any case, to get back on topic, does anyone actually have the Hero or Legend achievements yet? Are they even possible, or are they bugged?

Yeah, it's possible. There's 3 people I know of right now with every achievement. All I gotta say is, they must have incredibly stable connections. The checkpoint system with live is the most brutal thing I've ever seen in gaming. Especially considering the amount of time it takes to beat one level on legendary. I really want to beat it on legendary but I don't think I could if i wanted to. I literally spent 6 hours yesterday in total on the first level after finally geting to the end, and like I said earlier, I lost connection for a split second. Reconnected.... oops. Your checkpoint doesn't match the one stored on live. What? Go back to the checkpoint stored on live? That'd be crazy! Let's just have you restart the ENTIRE LEVEL.

Get a beam rifle and hit him in the head a 3-4 times, shouldnt take too long. I can't count the many times an ultra was coming at me with a sword and all I had was the beam rifle, saved me quite a few times.

But yes, a few people do have the legend achievement, me included. :P

So did you need to beat every level on legendary to get that acheivement or just the last level?

Slightly off-topic: I hate how some acheivements require that you kill a person with a certain acheivement or requirement, such as Flaming Ninja, Skewer Stopper, and Hired Gun. I want acheivements that I get get through a definite goal, not just randomly (or possible never) get it by killing someone.

yeah i'm gonna get halo 2 vista soon and would like to knows if the permanent invisibility glitch still works, the one were you get the invisibility skull and turn invisible during a checkpoint, quit and reload still works on the vista version of the game.

Ok, do you mind telling me how you got it? Did you go through the whole game in one go, or break it up over a few days/sessions? Did you go out of order at all, or entirely in order? Did you use the banshee trick on Tartarus? Get many disconnects from Live?

I've just run through the last level agian, and still no achievement. I've definitely played all the levels, and definitely been on legendary the whole time, yet I still don't even have the warrior achievement. It's disheartening to say the least, though I'm getting quite good at that last level.

F-f-f-f-fling yourself.

'kay folds, I got Legend, and I gots info fer ya,

First off, you CAN use skulls and get the achievement (so go nuts with grunt birthday party and envy and whatever else you like)

you can get all the levels in any order, and finally;

if you want to get all the achievements, don't bother playing through on the lower difficulties; beating legendary got me hero and legend. so it's just a waste of time if you go through on heroic first.

Hope this helps anyone who wondered.

Thanks, that is useful information, but it makes me even more confused as to why I don't have the achievements. I guess I'll just have to start all over again, and see which level didn't go through.

Good to know about the skulls though, GBP should make it more fun.
